Christmas in Review

Remember the picture below? I used it for my December 15th post.

It's a replication of the look on a guy's face that my son and I noticed while eating lunch at restaurant back in October.

We still make this face at each other and it makes us laugh. It, as you will see, also played a major role in demonstrating what Christmas is all about.

Now, Christmas is about many things other than the Little Baby Jeebus...It's also about getting together with family and friends.

Like this...The tall shit in the middle is one of my brothers, Steve.

And like this...My brother Marte' and his wife.

How could I not give Ryno a big ol' kiss on Christmas Eve?

Of course...Lucky folks exchange gifts o' plenty!!

Ahhhhhhh. Such a happy crowd.

And then we move to Christmas Morning. A half awake Ryno donning my beloved leather jacket that I passed on to him this Christmas.

And now it's 7:15 A.M. and Ryno opens another present. Whatever could it be?

Whatever it is, it sure as hell elicted one helluva laugh from the drowsy young man!!

Oh now we know what the gift is. Ha, Damn Right!! Dad hit this one out of the park.

I love it. Ryan's reaction to the gift was the best present that I received this year.

Don't get me wrong...I received some very nice stuff from people, but c'mon...

Is there anything better than hearing, seeing, and experiencing the full-on, unbridled laughter of a kid?

I don't think so...especially when it is your own kid doing the laughing.

I hope you all had some similar type of experience this Christmas, and I hope you laughed as well.

Cheers!!

Perfect....and in a way, you were part of a Christmas/Hanukkah/Festivus/Gift Of The Magi Miracle, that I will recount on Monday.
Merry Christmas my friend...and Schmoop...KISS!

Bond: Well, I like being part of a miracle. Merry Christmas Vin. And keep your Guinea lips to yourself. ; ) Cheers!!

Ryno looks just a tad less uncomfortable in that Christmas Eve kiss, than when you made him stand in front of the happy birthday sign when I was there, but that look holding the picture of his Dad will no doubt come back to make him smile and laugh for the rest of his life. You did awesome!

Micky: Ha. You hit it on the head. He does look like, "It's nice that my Dad loves me, but could he stop already."

Thanks Mick, and I hope he and I continue to make each other laugh for years to come. Cheers, my friend!!

Not sure what I like best....the Cheezy Tree or your ornament sized earpiece.

HAPPY OBAMA YEAR Matt....The year of the "Halfrican"

I'm with Dana---big time warm fuzzies! That's the true meaning and spirit right there---it's giving of yourself and surrounding yourself with love that is the key.

PS--LOL at the 'you know'

Don't you just ADORE it when you can tickle your kids' funny bone? I caught the moment this Christmas as Bri opened up his beer garden in a box.. He was cracking up as he read the directions! Hugs to you all...That was a grand post!

Cheesy: A beer garden? Sweeeeet. I hope you had a grand time you sweetie, you. And as you said...Hugs to all!! Cheers Cheesy!!

I think you should frame the pic of him holding your pic. That is a great shot. No moments like that for us, but then there were no bad moments either. There was a potentially ugly moment but I ushered us out the door before it could show its self.

Schmoop said...

Lu: Sorry buddy. But I am glad that you avoided the ugly situation. Your idea about framing the pic of the pic is a good one. I think I'll do just that. Thanks. Cheers Lu!!

Dianne: I know I'm biased, but I think he's frickin' adorable. Cheers Di!!

See, it matters not how much money you can or can't spend for fancy gifts, this is proof positive that with some brain power and some imagination, and a shitload of luck, you, too, can be cool in your kid's eyes.

Or, at least, one can dream, right?
