It's Morning in America Once Again...Sorta

Dear Speaker-in-Waiting Pelosi,

First of all, congrats on the elections, I am glad to see your hard work pay off. In a civil democracy such as ours, it is fucking hilarious sad to see any hard working criminal public servant lose. I am, however, pleased with the results.

Although I know that someone close to Bush will advise him that he can block legislation with an action called a veto; and even if the Dems win the Senate they will not be able to override him, I wanted to impart to you what I feel should be your legislative and political priorities. (Good God that was one long ass sentence.)

a. There should be a permanent price freeze on all alcohol and tobacco products.

b. We should re-deploy our troops out of Iraq as soon as possible. In the meantime, any incumbent who lost, and was a supporter of this insane war should be made to serve with a security detail on the streets of Baghdad.

c. Work closely with the Senate Democrats in an effort to muzzle John Kerry. The 2008 elections aren’t far off, consider making this your first priority.

d. We have spent nearly 98 Billion dollars a year on the war in Iraq. Why don’t we start spending 98 billion a year in our own country? Spend it on wacky things like schools, tuition assistance, the young, the old, the sick, the hungry. Also, I have noticed that it is hard to find good, quality porn films. A generous subsidy could get the American Porn industry back on track.

e. Call for a meaningless investigation into the affairs of Dick Cheney and subpoena him…just because you can.

f. Prohibit Britney Spears from breeding with whatever loser she marries next.

g. Please Speaker Pelosi, no more cosmetic surgery. You are one more face-lift away from going from being a fairly attractive older woman, to resembling the picture of Dorian Gray.

Lastly (for now),

h. Pimp My Ride.

Sincerely,

Matt-Man

All good recommendations especially that Britney Spears one. I can only hope Britney hears this message loud and clear. The people have spoken.

This is one instance where saying, "We Need to do it for the Children" actually means something!!

PLEASE don't get me started on Brittany Spears... Oh wait -- too late! Okay, FIRST -- gay people can't get married legally in the US but this skanky white trash can go through all the worthless marriages she wants to??? Not that I don't think it was a wise move kicking K-Fed to the curb, but does she NOT have a publicity person? Why the frak file for divorce on Election Day -- if she'd waited 48 hours, she could have REAPED headline news from this bit of trashy gossip -- and unfortunately any press for her is publicity.
But (kind of) seriously, how can you have a child with someone on September 12th, then on November 7th file for divorce on the grounds of "irreconciable differences?" -- unless K-Fed found out that little Jayden wasn't HIS! Is it the Manny's lust-child?!?!?!
Okay, I've thought farrrr tooo much about this stupid subject.

I'm just happy my doves WON in Michigan, I guess I'm post-election giddy.

Peace,
Morgen

Hey Mo,
Britney Spears is to you what Rachel Ray is to me evidently!! The doves will be happy to know that Darth Cheney cant come to Michigan and kill them.

Roughly $3.75 US....You can get some brands cheaper but ugh, I havent found one that is worth it. I really need to quit. That really was a good interview Wendz!!

$3.75?? Jesus! I just paid $5.89 for a pack this morning. You are a lucky, lucky man..

Schmoop said...

Holy Crap Allie...I smoke Basic Full Flavor for about 3.47 plus tax...Marlboros here are about 4.00. At 5.89 a pack I would hope that they are laced with crack!!

Thanks Matt-man. I smoke Gauloise - 4.60 euros a pack of 19...gosh but prices have gone up there...who I remember paying about 1 US$ when I was there last - OK it was yonks ago. In 1995. Are you lot also so anti-smoking over there? The French are getting there but I want to see them stopping all the old goats from smoking in the bars..hell there'll be another revolution.

Taxes on tobacco have gone through the roof over the past few years Wendy...Oh yeah smoking bans are all the rage over here...In fact, in Ohio where I live, there was a statewide smoking ban on the ballot yesterday AND IT PASSED...We will no longer be able to smoke in any public place including bars and restaurants. BIG BROTHER IS HERE.

Not really on, is it! I mean - what's a good dinner and a great bottle of wine without a lovely post-prandial ciggie?

*sigh*

Unfortunately yes it will be taking affect soon. I wouldnt kid about something like this!! Outrageous.

You forgot to add the thing about the split between church and state.

Oh yeah, that's already there. Uhmm, maybe use Guantanamo to hold anyone who holds extremist religious views. Uhmm, but that might mean Bush. Dang.

Yeah, you'll get used to the smoking ban... you'll be chanting, glazed-eyed, like the rest of the automatons about how much easier it is to breathe in these places, etc. Hell, I've found myself saying that, even though I absolutely ABHORE these laws. Luckily a lot of bars have gotten some really great covered, heated smoking areas going on around here, so not all is lost. Hell, more people hang out in the smoking area than inside. LOL

$4 for Marlboro doesn't seem so bad for me. I smoke Marl Menthol Lights. Luckily the gas station by my house always has a 3 pack special going on. $13.99 plus tax for three packs. So after tax, it's like $15. Not too bad. When I was a kid back in Ohio going into stores to buy my mom's smokes, she used to just give me two bucks to do it with. How times have changed...

The separation between Church and State seems to get more narrow everyday, boy...Gitmo would make a nice casino resort area.

I remember those days Allie, good times...good times.

Matt-Man,

WOuld you not want Britney to breed with Haircare. I got the hair and she's got the body; what a wonderful spawn.

hmmmmmmm Britney, excuse me while I whip this out

Good God Man...Her eggs need to be unfertilized for the good of humanity and for the potential child's safety!!

This is hilarious, Matt! I hope at least (a), (f), and (h) get passed.

Prices of smokes? A pack of Marlboros costs about $0.60 here.

Cheesy said...

They have already banned most smoking here in Oregon.. Here in Eugene there is no smoking in the bars either,, I believe the new law also states no smoking within 20 or 30 feet from any business doorway. And now they have added the "sin tax" on smokes to help fund health care... I think fast food should be taxed too then~~ It's killing even our children! So with a big brother like that? I think I'd like to be an only child~~~

Schmoop said...

Thanks for making me jealous, Lizza...Sixty cents!! Maybe you can send some via the black market.

No kiddin', Cheesy. Things are going overboard quickly. Stop the Madness and the Baby Sitting Now!!
