In the meantime, I'll go ahead and post the lyrics to one of the videos on which I am working. I wrote this song back during the lead up to the First Gulf War and modify it once in awhile.
Although, I have attached "Politics" to this post on the labels, it is really a song about how things never seem to change.
Unfortunately, soldiers, civilians, and the premise of the peace of various religions bear the sorrowful and painful burden of it all. If you will indulge me for a minute, I give you, "Spendin' Christmas in the Holy Land".
Lying here in the sand
Face down with my arms wrapped ‘round my gun
The moon shines like steel
Down on the oil fields
And on the ghosts of Babylon
And I know if he were here tonight
Be it Yahweh, or Allah, or Jesus Christ
He’d say, It’s the same old story.
I met a congressman
Who had just flown in
For a handshake and a photo-op
He watched some soldiers train
Then hopped back on his plane
To meet his family at a campaign stop.
And I know if he were here tonight
Be it Yahweh, or Allah, or Jesus Christ
He’d say, It’s the same old story.
And I know if we would take a look
Take the time to read those holy books
We’d say, It’s the same ol’ story
I’m spendin’ Christmas in the Holy Land
Lying here in the sand
Face down with my arms wrapped ‘round my gun
The moon shines like steel
Down on the oil fields
And on the cradle of peace undone....
Shalom, Salam, and Peace.
Feel free to pass this song along to those you feel would like to have it.
I'll be working on some lighter topics from here on out. Enjoy your Monday, and as always, Cheers!!

Thanks Roger...No, the problem isnt with You Tube; the problem is with my ineptitude. Cheers!!

Odat: I am just a big ol' Sweetie. Cheers, Monkey Girl!!
Jamie: Thanks. I didnt write as well back when I was 25, of course if I wrote this today, it would have a much more cynical and angry tone. Age does that. Cheers!!
Travis: Thank ya sir. Enjoy your Monday and I hope your Raiders fare better next year. Cheers!!
Todays word boys and girls is ineptitude. Which one best describes Matt-Man and You-Tube?
1. The quality of being inept
2. An inept act or remark.
Thank You Matt-Man, to damn early for those big words for me.
B.T.W> Watched all your Video's---FUNNY STUFF!!!
Joyeux Noël you 2!!
Al: In this instance both 1 and 2 apply. Thanks for checking out the videos. Hopefully I will have a couple more up soon. Cheers!!
Cheesy: Right back at ya Cheesy. Cheers!!
Matt-Man I love it, would prefer video.
You know these type of songs...make for a good album...just saying. One of my fav comics Pat Godwin, who does the song "Let's Put the Christ back in Christmas" is all satirical.
Anyway I love the lyrics, and will think on sharing them....Wednesdays I am always looking for something to post.
Oh and I hope your holidays are decadent and indulgent ;o)
Sassy: I'd prefer it on video as well, but I dont like how it looks yet. Thanks and share away.
And yes, my holiday will be decadent, why should I change my normal routine? Cheers!!
well done!! Have a great Monday.
Teg: Why thank you and thanks for stopping by. Cheers!!
Wow! I was hoping for a good laugh this morning and what do I get... Seriousness... but that's ok... after all tomorrow is another day.

Dixie: Yeah, well, I was hoping for a million dollars this morning and all I got was a case of constipation. Cheers!!
Those are some pretty powerful words there and very well done even if I do say so myself!
Hope you're having a good day...I am amongst the living again and trying to catch up on the blogs...ugh!
cheers to you Matt for always putting a smile on my face ;o)
Well, when I headed over here I thought I could do my usual comment about you being a sick puppy, but not today. Well done Matt-Man. Have a great Monday. :)
Jillie: Thank you very much. I hope your foot is better and that the drugs are gooooood. Cheers!!
Sandee: I have my moments. Have a good day yourself, and Cheers!!
Well done, Matt. Your word-smithery amazes me!
Good stuff, Matt-man! You're a sensitive old coot, ain'tcha?

You like Monday morning surprises, don't you?
Real: Maybe I'll change my last name to Wordsmithery. Thanks and Cheers!!
Teach: Don't tell anyone, okay? I'll be around at some point. Cheers!!
Songbird: I like to talk about lack of sex, bodily functions, and fat Santas, and then shock everyone with a halfway profound post. Cheers baby!!
I'm proud of you! The local paper should publish this one too... just a little more of this kind of thing and you could become a syndicated collumnist... but then we'd all miss your sick sense of humor.
it's all about the editing...
Another great offering Mateo. And a good reminder to be thankful for all of those who have given up so much...including the Holidays with their loved ones to protect our way of life.
Marilyn: Thanks very much Marilyn. When (not if) I become syndicated, I will never neglect my Bagwine Family. Cheers!!
Kat: And I edited the hell out of the Santa article so it could be printed in a paper!!
Thanks, you're right, and I wish you the best of luck with all that you have going on. Cheers my friend.
Who kidnapped Matt-Man?
Very poignant! Kudos for a fine post.

Bond: I am having problems with it but I should get it done at some point. Cheers!!
Loved this darlin'
Great song.
My 16-year old has turned completely politically over the Iraq war. Not that he 'truly' understands the ramification of the entire exercise, but he feels strongly about the policies that have led our country to this outcome.
I'm passing your lyrics along because I know he'll relate.
Thanks for the interesting topic.
Anndi: Thank ya dear. Cheers!!
Sandra: Thanks very much and let me know what he thinks. Thanks for stopping by and Cheers!!
