Sore Throats And Endorsements

Howdy All and whoop dee doo. I am under the weather today with a sore throat.

My throat is itchy, scratchy, and burning worse than a discharge from Britney Spears’ va-jay-jay. On the upside, folks around here are elated that I am nearly unable to speak.

In spite of my affliction, I offer you a brief post…The Monday Morning News.

Happy Hanukkah to Republican Presidential candidate Senator John McCain. McCain has received the endorsement of Connecticut Senator Joe Lieberman…Or, as we call it here at Bagwine Ruminations, the pathetic endorsing the desperate.

Lieberman did not take any questions after the announcement, because he said that he had to get back to work on his effort to make Jerusalem the official capital of the United States.

On the Democrat side, Clinton and Obama picked up endorsements from the Des Moines Register and the Boston Globe respectively. I don’t know what this means for Hillary and Barack, but it is proof positive that newspaper editorial boards are comprised of major assholes.

In sports over the weekend, there was football played and basketballs dribbled…some teams won, and some lost. There may have been hockey played as well, but this is the sports segment not a discourse on Canadian buffoonery.

And now, on a somber note…Dan Fogelberg has died at the age of 56. Fogelberg was responsible for such hits as “Leader of the Band” and “Same Old Lang Syne”. Women and overly sensitive, gorp eating males everywhere are mourning his passing. Bagwine Ruminations wishes Godspeed and Fare Thee Well to the Prince of Pussy Pop.

So there you have it, a little Monday Morning News to kick start your week. I want to thank all of you who listened to me sing a few tunes on Turnbaby’s BlogTalk show last night. I hope you survived my tone deaf attempts to instill a little holiday cheer.

Now, I must go gargle and drink some hot tea. Until tomorrow, and hopefully at 100%, I bid you a good day, and of course, Cheers!!

Hey Same Old Lang Syne is a great christmas song, and I am no gorp.

And if you start talking hockey, is curling far behind?

Schmoop said...

Julie: Not a big fan of DF, but yes it is sad. Cheers!!

Roger: Thanks Roger, maybe a few shots of Jack would help allay my pain. Cheers!!

Schmoop said...

Sparky: Ha...Y'know for some reason, I find Curling oddly interesting. Cheers!!

So tou think there may be some correlation between your singing on Turnbaby’s BlogTalk show last night and your sore throat? Hmmmm ....

Schmoop said...

Dana: I'm glad you mentioned that, because I know that somehow, this is her fault. She's a walking petry dish after all. Glad that you made it home. Cheers!!

You're right.. the buffoons are mainly on the White House plains...

Now take that curling broom and give yourself a cleansing. Or you could always lick off the olive oil and chocolate sauce...

Schmoop said...

Anndi: You, me, and a curling broom...Yum-Oh!! Cheers!!

I told you to throw out that spatula after scratching the rash!

Serves you right for licking the pancake batter off of it!

Schmoop said...

Leighann: Well son of a bitch, that probably is what did it. Youu are so effin' wise. Cheers!!

Once again I had a major case of "CRAFT"... I just remembered that you where on Turnbaby's show last night.... arghhhhhhh.... well, I was at church at my daughter's Christmas program... am I forgiven? ;-)

You can catch germs over the phone line...proven fact...so you can just blame Turn...

I thoroughly enjoyed your telling take on the sports. Very informative.

Guzzle some urine... it'll cure what ails ya.

Schmoop said...

108: Thanks. With the amount of detail I go into, some people think that I have a staff of 20 people....but nope, it's just me.

I'll try your suggestion, sounds like peenicillin. Cheers!!

I read a study once that showed that if you masterbated a lot as a teen you had a much lower chance of having prostrate cancer. At least I've got that going for me ;)

Schmoop said...

VE: I have heard that as well and it is something that I continue to practice to this day...Although, not necessarily by choice. Cheers VE!!

Feel better Matt-Man. Not a fan of Dan or of any of the presidential hopefuls you mentioned. Love your sports overview. Well duh, some won and some lost. Bwahahahah. You are brilliant Matt-Man. Have a great day. :)

Schmoop said...

Sandee: You had me at "brilliant". Have a good one yourself, and Cheers!!

I read about Dan Fogelberg this morning, such a shame.
Hope you are feeling better soon, definitely get some soothing tea to drink, in fact having one of my little slaves make me some at this moment while I listen to some Partridge Family Christmas music.

Schmoop said...

Sassy: Please tell me you are kidding...Fogelberg is a genius compared to The Partridge Family. This explains so very much about you. ; ) Cheers!!

Beth said...

Now you're dissing my Partridge Family. One again, you suck!

My musical education must be seriously lacking. I don't think I've ever heard of Dan Fogelberg.

I noticed Turnbaby always has to "save her voice" on Sunday nights. Correllation? I think maybe there's germs on her show!

Schmoop said...

Schmoop: I suck do I? I was going to hire David Cassidy to come over and have sex with you for Christmas. After that comment, you can expect Danny Bonaduce to come over and open up a can of red-headed Whoop Ass on ya.

Metalmom: You are one of the fortunate ones. Yeah, I think TB is called that because she has TB. Cheers!!

Liz Hill said...

LOL--I think it was from all that singing!! Thanks again for being a good sport and doing a great job.

And boooo to you for dissing Dan Fogelberg. And wouldn't "Pussy Pop" be a good product;-)

Schmoop said...

TB: I had a good time and thanks. Mmmmmmm yes Pussy Pop, an Eskimo favorite!! Cheers Baby!!

Kat: I remember that Mike wanted to ply Carol with Hot Toddys. Who says the Brady Brunch didn't rock. Cheers!!

Bond: I was hoping that someone would pick up on that. Thank You. Cheers!!

Add a splash or four of Kentucky Bourbon to that hot tea and your sore throat will be healed—and, even if not healed, you won’t notice the pain.

Mimi Lenox said...

I loved Fogelberg. May he rest in peace.

Schmoop said...

Nick: Oh, it worked alright. I tried it several times to make sure. Cheers!!

Mimi: May it be so indeed. Cheers!!
