Sunday Morning Church Disservice: Politics and Peace

It is a gray and wet Sunday here in Bagwine, Ohio, and the mood is a bit of the same. I’ll get to the reasons why in a minute.

First, if you have some time tonight, tune into Turnbaby’s BlogTalk Radio Show at 8 EST. This lovely woman with the steroid fed tits southern charm is having a special guest. Me!!

It seems she was in a bind and needed someone to help her out with her show tonight. And who do you call when you are in a bind? That’s right, Matt-Man, Bitch!!

We will be discussing politics. It seems the issue of the ability of a woman to serve as President of this country has reared its ugly (albeit with a soft rouge and plenty of eyeliner) head amongst some bloggers.

I’m sure TB and I can take the political scene from being an unintentional series of comedic events into an intentional series of comedic events. So, if you get the chance get your hard drive going and give us a listen. For details, just click HERE.

And now, our Sunday Church Disservice Thoughts….

Many of you know this, some of you may not…all the same, I felt the need to say something. Longtime reader and participant of Bagwine Ruminations, Odat, has lost her husband. He passed away, and from what I gather, unexpectedly late Thursday night.

Odat has always been a loyal blogging friend of mine. She has been a reader since the days shortly after I started this site, and very rarely does a day pass that she doesn’t leave a comment.

Just opening the comments section and seeing her peace avatar always brings a smile to my face, and she ends every comment with the word, “Peace”.

There are no good answers as to why this happened to my friend and her family. No sage words from a philosopher, priest, or prior can explain away the pain of loss or give us insight into the mysteries of life…and death. But maybe it’s not all that complicated.

Maybe life’s answers don’t lie within an unsolvable geometric hypothesis or a paradoxical algebraic expression. Perhaps the answer as to what life is all about lies in front of us, next to us, surrounding us.

For instance, there are many things that I don’t have, but I do have plenty of love and friendship in my life, and as the song below explains more eloquently that I can, that’s all that really matters…I hope you listen to it.

Amen, and amen.

If you haven’t already, please stop by Odat’s site and leave her a message of what she offers us at the end of every comment that she makes: Peace.

Thanks, you can go to her site by clicking

No smart ass comment from me today. I was blown away when I read the post her friend put up for her. I can not imagine losing Lisa and I can only barely understand the pain that has to be in her heart right now.

Great service today my friend!
