Sunday Morning Church Disservice: Solace
As you may know, I am out of town this weekend for the funeral of an old friend.
I worked this past Friday night, and about a half hour before I left, looking towards the western horizon from the "Drive-Thru", I was captivated by the serene look of the sky.
I took the following picture and scheduled it to post for today's Sunday Morning Church Disservice.
The picture is unaltered or retouched. It is, just as I snapped it.
In spite of losing a friend, the clear, peaceful dusk, gently awash in hues of deep lilac and amber comfort me...
This skyscape, to me, is not only a transition of color that catches one's eye, but it is a gradient that takes one's soul from sorrow to solace.
I hope that Blogger is working the way it should, and that this post finds it way on to my site, and that it finds you well this Sunday Morning...
Amen, and Amen...
I will be returning home sometime later today. I hope to "see" you all soon.
Cheers!!

Its amazing how mother nature gives us things when we need them
That is my favorite time of day. It's a gift to be able to have the ability to stop and notice things like this. I don't know how people who can't manage to put one foot in front of the other.
Hope you and your friends were able to send off Mark in the style he deserved. There's no easy part of grieving the loss of someone you care about, but the hurt although never completely gone, will subside.
My condolences on your friend Mark passing (yeah, just getting caught up after summer break, sorry).
The picture is beautiful!
Dusk to dusk.
WOW! what a fabulous picture! Those colors are awesome!
Beautiful picture, babe!
Gorgeous, Matty. Serenely stunning.
I hope you had a safe trip to Cleveland and were able to find some solace in being among those who also mourn the passing of Mark. Take care.
from sorrow to solace
beautiful words and photo matt-man
I have never seen a sky like that. You were blessed to have witnessed such beauty. I am glad it came at a time to give your heart some solace.
I so enjoy it when we get a little glimpse of this "other" side of you.
Be safe on your journey home!
Hi All. Thanks for the comments. Allis well here, and I hope it is with you.
I got home around 7:45 P.M. this evening.
The service was well done, and we actually had one helluva wake Saturday night.
This of course, means that that the nearly 4 hour trip home was painful, full of nausea and DT's. Cheers, and thanks again!!
A moment like that is a wonderful thing to renew the spirit.
Travis: Indeed it was. Cheers Travis!!
That is a beautiful picture. I'm sorry to hear about your friend.
