We are in the middle of a Health Care Reform and economic crisis folks and what does President Obama plan on doing about it?
Hopping aboard Air Force One and flying off to wonderful, wonderful, Copenhagen…Yep, his wife Michelle is already in Denmark, and the President will be flying there tonight.
Why is President Obama traipsing off to the land of Hans Christian Andersen, Heidi Zadeh, and Havarti?
He is trying to influence the International Olympic Committee in their decision as to what city will host the 2016 Summer Olympics.
The Obamas are trying to rally support and votes from the IOC in hopes that Chicago will be chosen to be that host city.
I dig that…but others? Not so much.
Loons on right wing talk radio and cable are going nuts.
House GOP Leader John Boehner (R-OH) and GOP Chairman Michael “Distempered” Steele are saying President Obama should stay in Washington, D.C. and focus on more pressing problems, such as Health Care Reform and jobs.
Steele, Boehner, and right wing talking heads? Get off your podium of stupid and please restrain yourselves from trying to make political gold out of an also-ran issue. Seriously…you look stupid.
If Obama can help bring the 2016 Summer Olympics to Chicago, U.S.A., what the hell is wrong with that? Hello? Anyone, Anyone? Bueller?
I really don’t think Obama going to wonderful, wonderful, Copenhagen is going to make or break any progress on any Health Care Reform or job creation plan that Steele or Boehner really don’t give a shit about anyway.
And listen…It’s 2009 and not 1901, and Obama is not William McKinley. In this day and age, we have planes and everything. Yes we do, fellas!!
It’s not as though it’s late July 1901 and Obama is President McKinley hopping aboard the ocean liner, Fürst Bismarck.
And then, as McKinley would have, steam to Hamburg in order to address the IOC in hopes of bringing the 1912 Olympics to Buffalo.
After meeting with the IOC, McKinley then would have to steam back to the States, hop on a train, and arrive in Buffalo a month after his departure on September 6th, 1901.
Of course McKinley would have to break the news to hopeful Buffalonians that the IOC had awarded the 1912 Olympics to Stockholm.
Of course upon hearing the bad news, Leon Czolgosz would be so depressed that he would shoot McKinley twice at point blank range, and McKinley would die eight days later. You see…
Czolgosz was not only an Anarchist, he was a world class triple jumper, but with the news, his Olympic hopes were forever dashed.
He would then take his depression out on McKinley in the form of hot lead. Perhaps ol' Leon should have entered a shooting event.
Fortunately, that is not how it is today…Obama is going to be gone about 24 hours…if that. He has a plane, computers, and other nifty gadgets. Yes he does, fellas!!
He will only be out of town for a few hours and after that, Boehner, Steele, and his ilk can go back to doing nothing while Obama is in town, rather than whining while he is out of town.
If Obama can help bring the 2016 Summer Olympics to Chi-Town, what the hell is the problem with that? Jeebus Christ ya phony fucks. Quit makin’ an issue out of it.
Oh…one word to President O-Man. If you get a chance, my man, look up Heidi Zadeh and ask her the following for me…
"Kan vi få nøgen?"
Thank you Mr. President, and...
Cheers!!

If John Boner had even a modicum of interest in any thing associated with health insurance reform...well, he would bring something to the table besides Nyet.
Being President of the good ole US of A is not a single-task job. Multi-tasking is a good thing - even if Dubya and his GOP holdovers don't understand the term.
I don't think lobbying for the olympics is the President's job. It's a little beneath his pay grade. But, I don't see it as some huge outrage that he going over there to do it. I just think it's unnecessary.
Okay, honestly I don't give a shit. But, since you asked I thought I would give you my opinion.
You didn't ask? Oh, uh, well there ya go anyway. ;-)
I’m still loving the nicknames, but loving the photo a little more. I’m in that kind of mood today. I think it would be great for Chicago to get the games. It is a huge economic boon. I can’t imagine the traffic though, and I’m glad that I won’t have to deal with it. I love how Steele and Boehner are up in arms about him taking a day or two off of health care. I thought a minute ago they were saying he was overdoing it. Obama could find a cure for cancer and the right would be up in arms that ‘this is going benefit the poor and/or black at the expense of the white and/or rich’ because more poor, black men have cancer. They would call him a racist and say that this was just another form of reparations.
David: Me fellow Ohioan Boner, needs to do something more productive than hitting the Prez on stupid things and spending his free time in a tanning bed. Cheers David!!
Jay: I disagree with you. He is the current CEO of the USA and helping to bring jobs, economic opportunity, and the international spotlight on the States is part of his job. Especially if he can do that in the course of spending a mere four hours on the ground in Copenhagen.
I am very disappointed in you, Jay. No, not because we disagree on the trip, but because you failed to mention the hotness of Heidi Zadeh. Are you feeling okay, my friend?
Cheers Jay!!
Scott: I think it would be great but you're right. Traffic would be beyond nightmarish. As for the do nothing folks you mention...
Jesus on a donkey wouldn't be able to make these people happy if he were to come back to Earth and call for Health Care Reform. Cheers Scott!!
Then there are those of us who live in Chicago who don't want our taxes to go up - who don't want the nightmare of the Olympics in our back yard - who wonder how IL politicians will corrupt this event.
I don't care who goes to lobby for the Olympics in Chicago - I just hope we don't get them!
I bet when Boehner comes home to dinner after a long day of stupid whiney remarks his wife runs to meet him at the door, grabs him and looks lovingly into his eyes and says..."your sooo wonderful John"
I'm wondering if there'll be a little "Michelle Time" on the plane.
Dana: I know there are more than a few who don't want the Olympics there, eh. Chances are the bid will go to Rio anyway. I am more commenting on the "scandal" of Obama's trip itself. Cheers Dana!!
Micky: Ha. For some reason that struck me funny. I just laughed out loud. Cheers Mick!!
Fantasy: I be tthere will be...They don't call her "Mile High Michelle" for nothin'. Cheers Meg!!
I can't believe Obama is going to Copenhagen
There's so many white people there and he hates white people
how will he cope!?
Perhaps he's having meetings with secret Muslim Nazis
Dianne: Holy Shit Dianne, you hit the nail on the head. After all, Heidi Zadeh is Iranian born!! Jeebus Christ...Obama is selling nuclear secrets to the Towel Heads!! Cheers Sexy!!
I know what you are commenting on you goof, but *I* wanted to get my say in! Pfftttt!
Dana: Just trying to clarify...I didn't know if you were still doped up on Sudafed and NyQuil. Mmmmmmmm, NyQuil. Cheers Dana!!
...I hope he brings me back some o' them wooden shoes...Oh wait! that's Holland, right?...dang!...oh well, I'll settle for some cheese...
Phfrankie: Because I like ya so much, if I get through to him on his hotline, I'll have him not only bring you some cheese, I'll have him set you up with some smoked eel as well. Boy Howdy!! Cheers P-Man!!
OK, some additional traffic...OK, maybe some expense...but what about the millions of dollars in income that it would generate for the city of Chicago?
Bond: Damn right. And the jobs to develop the place prior to the Big Show. And...the joy of exposing the world to Chicago Dawgs, Italian Beef, and Old Style Beer? Wake Up, Folks!! Cheers Vinny!!
If it makes it to Chicago most of the world will still be looking for Al.
A great side show would be a shoot out old gangster style(running boards,Tommy guns, etc).
Now someone will steal this idea and make a bundle.
Micky: Maybe Geraldo Rivera will try once more to find something in Capone's vault. Cheers Mick!!
If Chicago gets the Olympics....I have dibs on staying with Dana!!
All kinds of people were up in arms about the Olympics in LA. Traffic, better use of funds, blah, blah.
and then came Peter Ueberroth.
The events scattered all OVER the place ran smoothly. They shifted traffic patterns and provided amazing public transit. And they actually made money.
Chicago has been a contender long before Obama's election. Although they have the corruption history they could probably do a pretty good job.
Oprah probably pulls more weight than the President with the IOC. But his appearance is a nice touch.
Kat: I always dig it when the Olympics are in the states no matter where, and the LA Olympics were fantastic.
Oprah pulls more weight with the IOC than Obama? She pulls alot of weight alright. Maybe if the IOC members are into black chicks with non-Olympic bodies...Or women who look like former East German female weightlifters. If that helps, so be it.
Yeah, I said that...Cheers Kat!!
imagine all the "teamster" jobs it would create!!!!
Teamster: Damn Straight...And IBEW, IAPAT, CWA, and USWA, and so and so forth. I dig it!! Cheers Yank!!
I was gonna say, the revenues generated are pretty damn good for the host city.
And he should have sent Mitt The Mo. He knows how to negotiate (cough *bribe* cough) with the OIC ;)
I think it would be good to have the Olympics here..and I think he can handle a 24 hour jaunt on AF1...those people are just being silly...as usual!
HUGS!!
I wonder if the Pres will bring them back some Havarti to go with their whine...lol
Starr: Yeah....Give me three more wives and a pantry full of food!! Cheers Starr!!
Jay: Meh? You ARE a pedophile. You need to have your nuts cut off. Heidi Zadeh!! Cheers!!
Leelee: As always you are correct, AND most importantly..you make me smile. Hope all is well with ya, Lisa. Cheers!!
Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm I LOVE YOU
Anony: Well, thanks. I love you too. I think. Unless you're some sort of freak...If that's the case, I love you even more. Cheers!!
Those right-wing talking heads have conveniently forgotten that GW Bush would take no less than a month away from Washington every August not including his other "vacations".
JR thanks you for the picture of Heidi. And says that you must be so proud of your representative.
Michele: What's a month off amongst "friends"? And please, tell JR to look but not touch. Like you said, she's MY representative. You know...in my dreams. Cheers Michele!!
when atlanta got the Olympics in '96 everybody was afraid of the traffic & happy about the jobs it would bring.. oddly, neither one appeared. all the natives decided to avoid downtown & all the international people walked around as they had no cars.. i loved it that the traffic was so light. the restrictions on & placement of vendors assured that no one even saw them, but the hookers & strip bars did a booming trade though.. i heard there's a govt controlled apartment building/complex that will be used for athlete housing & its turned into a multimillion dollar venture for some of obama's minions he took to washinton with him. meh, theres a shocker, people with money, contacts, & influence in washington adding to their coffers? holy shit.. im shocked.. but heidi zadeh's ass makes it all come together, so its a good deal...
Oh if we could only all look like Heidi... well not you men...now you see what we women have to live up to?? As far as this whole Olympic thing goes...I don't think it's the President's job to lobby for the Olympics but hey it's just another celebrity photo opp.Our President loves the camera and the sound of his own voice. I just don't think we need to be paying for all his jet setting.
Clay: That is "shocking"!! Hey...at least in Atlanta the Olympics went off with a BANG!! And speaking of banging...Heidi is smokin' HAWT!! Cheers Clay!!
RLF: You're right of course. Obama should have stayed in Washington and listen to the DEMS and REPS feign concern about health care while pandering to the cameras and their consticuancies. Cheers!!
So are we REALLY so surprised that Letterman was dipping his wick in the company ink? And why did he feel the need to confess on national television? So we could all feel sorry that he was blackmailed, or is it strictly for ratings and entertainment value... ugh...
RLF: If it was consentual and not a matter of sexual harassment from the "man in charge" what's the big deal? And he did exactly the right thing mentioning it on his show.
By doin so, he preempted all of today's headlines, by saying, "Hell yeah, I dorked 'em." Cheers!!
RLF: You don't have to have a big dick to get chicks in bed if you're funny...Trust me, I know this. Cheers!!
I know 3 people who got jobs because of the Atlanta Olympics. Did it live up to it's job generating hype? No clue. Does it live up to the sweeping generalization that none were created? Nope.
Starr: And there yo go folks...Starr and her common sense on display. Learn from it. Cheers Starr!!
Thank you, thank you. I have just never met a generalization that I liked.
Well other than chocolate is good.
Starr: Ha. You're a roll today...or would that be a Ho-Ho? Cheers Starr!!
All this and no coffee yet as well. Something is odd about this now that you mention it :P
Starr: Maybe you have become purified and are now a vessel of GAWD!! Cheers Starr!!
The idea of me being pure scares the shit out of me :P
Starr: Deal with it...You're Pure now!! Oh the humanity!! Hahahahahahahahah. Cheers!!
