Bagwine Literature

My friend Allison (aka Gouda) has “tagged” me to fill out a survey i.e. a “meme”. Since she has, since the inception of my site, been my free tech support, I feel compelled to answer her questions. The following are the questions that she has posed.

A book that made me laugh:

“America: A Citizens Guide to Democracy Inaction” by Jon Stewart, et.al.…This book is laugh out loud funny and makes a great bathroom companion. Also the “Book of Job” by Job and inspired by God. His trials and tribulations of losing all that he had is a continual parade of guffaws.

A book that made me cry:

“Irish Coffee” and “Credo” by my Dad…These two books of poetry make my cry sometimes, because he wrote them, and there are several poems about Mom. Both have now passed on to the great unknown, and it reminds me of how much I miss them.

A book that I wish had been written:

“Bagwine Ettiquette: Wild Irish Rose and You”. Maybe this should be called, “a book that hasn’t been written…yet!!”

A book I wish had never been written:

While I don’t subscribe to the thought that any book should not be written, one truly dreadful book is, “The First Mom: Wit and Wisdom of Barbara Bush”. I mean, c’mon, seriously. Shouldn’t it have been titled, “The First Mom: How I Spread My Legs and Failed a Nation”?

I'm currently reading:

The tea leaves in the bottom of my cup.

A book I've been meaning to read:

I would like to read “The Exorcist”. I love the movie, and have wondered if the book is as good. Of course, no matter how good, I would still miss the visual of Regan and Captain Howdy having a three-way with the crucifix.

What turned me onto fiction:

The first time that I ever had sex on indoor/outdoor carpeting, wait a minute, that would be FRICTION, sorry. When I was growing up I loved the sports books by a guy named Matt Christopher. I distinctly remember the book, “The Catcher with a Glass Arm.” I like the letters to Penthouse
Forum too. Boy, I never thought in a million years that that would happen to me!

Those are my final answers...

Prologue...

A long time friend of mine called me last night. We were talking about some things that happened when we were at Bowling Green State University together. What a hoot. The dude’s name is Hair Care Joe and I could devote several entries to to him. Hopefully, I will have time later today to post a couple of things that he and I talked about last night. If not, there is always next week.

If I don’t see ya all later today, have a fantastic Labor Day Weekend and remember, “Drink Wild Irish Rose, It’s Fun.”

And Now Our Moment of Hinn…

Today, our friend from World Harvest Church, Pastor Rod Parsley:

“If you can't sow the whole $1,000 right now, sow $500 and believe God for the other $500...But take a step of faith right now. I'm giving you an opportunity to miss the mess!"

--Pastor Rod Parsley

Not one bit, Mo. My head is big enough as it is, so I can't afford to let anything else go to it. The only laboring I will be doing is stuffing my face with greasy food, watching college football, and drinking Rose.

Have a great weekend yourself, you knucklehead...

Yeah, the Barbara Bush title made me snort milk. You cheeky monkey!

And I forgot about how much I also LOLed and LMAOed and ROTFLed with Jon Stewart's book. It is quite seriously one of the greatest books ever written. It should be used as an actual text book.

Are you getting randy with me, you dirty milk snorter, you?...I cannot tell you how many times I've read Stewart's book.

I mean, I know how many times it has been, but I just cannot tell you.
