You see, when St. Patrick’s Day falls on a weekday, it is kind of a bother. By the time the workday is over, the bars around here are always packed. And I mean packed wall to wall, it’s kinda not so fun. When it falls on a weekend, I can get up that morning down some coffee, and be on a barstool eating ham and eggs and washing it down with green beer by 8:15 A.M. At noon I can eat some beef stew with my green beer. And later around 5 P.M. as they begin to serve corned beef and cabbage, I can peacefully lay in my booth, holding my 8th pitcher of green beer, and pass out as I piss down my leg, leaving a stain on my crotch, a puddle at my feet, and warm feeling all over my body…Good Times.
Another big thing going on that month is that Thursday, March 22nd; the Matt-Man is boarding a plane and heading off to our nation’s capital. I will be spending the weekend in Washington, D.C. in order to attend a nephew’s
I will be getting back to Bagwine, Ohio the following Sunday just two days before the last big event of March 2007. You see on Tuesday the 27th of March, Schmoop will no longer BE 40, she will be IN her 40’s as she will be turning 41. My, my where do the years go. I know I could say that you’re not getting older, Schmoop, you’re getting better, but you are getting older, and as far as getting better, well that depends on one’s outlook. If you consider that the list of the people in this world that you want dead increases every day, than yes you are getting better. In any event it will be a fun day.
So there you have it folks, March is going to be one hell of a fun month, and the best thing is that it will probably lead to some very interesting Bagwine posts in April!! By the way, if any of you fine female fans of Bagwine Ruminations, are in the area at that time, give me a call. Maybe we can get together, go see the Capitol, and then head back to my room for a little filibustering!!
Cheers…

I don't know who Schmoop is, but I share the same horror..March is the month I, too, will be IN my forties.
If I were in Ohio, Matt, I would join you for your St Patircks Day orgy and weep into my green beer alongside you.
Sounds like a busy month...full of fun and booze. Ew!
Schmoop is my buddy, sidekick, and all-around good egg...Yeah that would be good Wendz, we could get plastered and then do a duet together of "When Irish Eyes are Smiling" as our alcohol induced tears run down our faces...Cheers, friend!!
Tyra Banks and Jenna Jameson?!
WHA!?!?
One's annoying as hell and the other will give you an STD.
You have weird tastes my friend. ;)
Steve~
I taste weird too!!
Dang! I'll be in DC on March 26th - we'll just miss each other!
Leave some alcohol for me, k?
Rats, Tigger I could have brought a nice pair of Bagwine boxers for you. It will be hard, but my family and I shall try not to drink the city dry. Cheers!!
Filibustering indeed! Spare a thought for me on St Paddy's (as you might imagine it's not such a big deal here in Japan).
Loved your Streaming Friday post!!
Consider it done O'Eyechan...Thanks for the kind word. Cheers...
Matt-Man...I am sorry Steven tried to ruin your little fantasy there...
I would most certainly not turn down a T.B/J.J sandwich...but if it skives Steven too much... what about a Diana Riggs / Emily Proctor sandwich?
St. Pats on a Saturday?????... rut ro... this could be dangerous
March is also my son's birthday. He'll be 4. One year closer to world domination. lol
DC, eh? Make sure you throw some eggs and TP at the Whitehouse...
Oh Yeah, Bond, I could go with a Diana Rigg/ Emily Proctor Sandwich. And yes it could be dangerous. I remember the last time it was on a Saturday, well actually I dont remember too much of it...
Allie, you do know that the Ministry of Homeland Security has just labeled you as being "a person of interest".
I am have already reached that in the forties milestone and I survived. I seem to recall you are a fellow February birthday person like me.
I see you have been having fun below with the first gal beefeater. Don't knock it, they get to wear those groovy outfits like the little guy on the gin bottle.
Yes adav, I'll be 42 on the 7th of next month. Oddly enough Gin was indeed the first thing I thought of. Cheers my friend!!
Woo hoo hoo! Looks like March will rock for Matt! (And that Matt will rock for March!)
I sure as hell haven't seen or tasted green beer (and I don't think I will in the foreseeable future) so have one for me on St. Paddy's Day, will ya? Just before you pass out and make a mess. :-) Cheers!
I will do that Lizza. And green beer is just regular beer with green food coloring added. It doesnt change the taste. One word of caution if you are shit faced after drinking too much of it, dont freak out at 2 AM when you see yourself pissing what appears to be Lime Juice!!
Many sandwiches round here today =)
Where´s mine?!?!
Matt, I'm so sorry I missed sandwich time this morning! Is it too late to join the picnic?
I've been hanging out with my pal Another Desert Rat all day, but she's been kind enough to let me use her laptop while she entertains the kids.
Wish I could be there to party with you. I love Washington, DC. Watch out for those amateurs on St. Pat's, tho.
MMMMMMMMMMMMM as suggested -TB and JJ sammich --yummmm
oh wait--did you mean someone other than me and J. J.? *sly grin*
LOLOL funny
Awww you just took me back to 2005 when I was in London for St. Paddy's Day and we all got sloshed on the tube and then a pub. Awwwww... I could end up in Dublin for the rest of my St. Paddies. Yaay!
-N
At first when I saw the post heading mentioned "wedding vows," I thought "OH MY GOD, Matt-man is getting married!"
Then, after the paramedics were able to restart my heart, I read further and saw that it's actually your nephew who's getting married.
Whew... don't scare us like that! :)
Oh yeah...March will be a very good month indeed...(I was born in March too)....and sorry I won't be in the area while you're there...I so like filibusters!
Peace
Sanni: I'll be right over with a loaf of pumpernickle big enough for the both of us to fit into.
Songbird: You know that you are welcome at my picnic anytime. And dont worry, I'll keep my eye out for the drunken "Irish" amateurs.
TB: Either TB would work for me , you hussy !!
Nat: That's sounds fun indeed. And I hope you do end up buzzed and happy in Dublin!!
Janna: Good God woman, bite your tongue!! I wouldnt go through that again.
Odat: I always knew that you liked to get freaky on the floor of the Senate.
Yeah, I know it's gonna be great with St. Patrick's Day falling on a weekend and for beer lovers like me who hates to be shoved to a corner of the bar, this is my right time to enjoy many pints of beer till I am all high and tipsy. Wish you have a ball of a time, this March :) and then make a post on how fulla fun the day was. Do visit my blog too for some more exciting news that I have for people like you who just wanna have great time!!!
