Britney Limbaugh Loses Custody Of Her Phony Soldiers

There seems to be so much going on this morning and yet nothing at the same time. As I read and listen to the headlines in the news, I think to myself, “Wow there is a plethora of people and events at which to poke fun.” But then I think, “Oh forget it Matt, these things have been ridiculed to death, and they really are not newsworthy.”

Take for instance Britney Spears. She has lost custody of her two kids to ex-husband Kevin Federline, better known as K-Fed, or as I refer to him, “The Unwashed”. The court ruling didn’t reveal the reasons why Britney lost custody, but I can imagine that it contained Dean Wormer’s phrase, “Fat, drunk, and stupid is no way to go through life.”

Okay, Britney isn’t fat at all compared to the average American, but you get my point. In fact, I don’t make fun of anybody who is carrying a few extra pounds because my weight has been up and down more than Senator Larry Craig’s foot in a bathroom stall.

The thing is, be she portly or not, the entire Britney saga will hopefully come to its conclusion and the media will turn its attention to, oh I don’t know, something relevant like the war in Iraq or dead monks in Myanmar.

Another example of much ado about nothing began yesterday. Conservative blow hard and North America’s largest producer of methane, Rush Limbaugh, was attacked by Media Matters and others for using the phrase “phony soldiers” on a radio broadcast last week. He was using the phrase in reference to Iraq War veterans who speak out against the Iraq war. Or was he? It seems to me he was referring to an outspoken anti-war soldier that claimed to have served in Iraq, when in fact, the soldier in question had not.

This “incident” is, much like Limbaugh himself...overblown. The media is all over it and now Rep. Udall (D-Colorado) wants to pass a resolution condemning El Rushbo’s statement. For the love of God Congressman, it was a waste when the Republicans took the people’s time to introduce a resolution condemning the Move On ad that took a shot at Gen. Petraeus, and your actions are equally inane and wasteful. Instead, why don’t you and your colleagues work on ending the war and lowering prescription drug costs.

Folks, I am pissed. All of these non-issues that are driving the news are driving me insane. Because of the media’s coverage of non-stories, it is becoming increasingly difficult for me to uncover the people and events that are worthy of laugh out loud ridicule. Is there a comedy embargo of which I am unaware? Damn it, I need funny stupid not irrelevant stupid. Somebody help me!!

Okay, I am done ranting for now. I will try to cheer up and get back to my sarcastic, yet good natured self as soon as possible. In the meantime, I am off to take my second shower of the day because it has just dawned on me that I just defended Rush Limbaugh and boy do I feel dirty. Damn, the media has really turned my world upside down.

Pass me the Irish Spring, the steel wool, and Cheers!!

A second shower, eh? Teehee - you must REALLY feel used and abused.

I figured you'd have something to say about the state of "news" reporting lately. I was pretty disgusted to check the news headline around 2:00 yesterday afternoon and see "Britney to lose custody of her kids" as the headline top story. WTF?!

You know you've reached a new level of news gathering when you get your news from blogs rather than from the news media. I've learned more from you than I have from those sites.

Preach on Brother Matt! All this crap about Britney (when the writing was on the wall for ages) in place of HOW FUCKING MANY dead in Burma? Not that our government in the USA give a rat's ass as their oil reserves are neither handy enough nor high enough for the Bush administration to get a hard on for their freedom.

I hate him. I really really do. Really for really real.

Songbird: It is sad isnt it? Unfortunately theat is what much of our culture wants to see. Thanks for the kind words though darlin'.

Starrlight: I'll keep on preaching only if you let me know if you really hate him. Cheers!!

I never liked the idiot Rush Limbaugh ... how dare that fat ass make comments about our brave men and women defending HIS rights so HIS FAT ASS can sleep at night???

Never mind ... it pisses me off so that I can't even make any sense ...

Schmoop said...

Dixie: It's not worth getting worked up about Rush No-Baughs, you have enough to concern yourself with. Cheers!!

I think Brit lost her kids because she is a drunk, druggie and has been raising her kids much like they do in crack town.

Rush is kind of annoying. There have been two anti war soliders that have been determined fakes but I'm not sure that's they he was referring to.

Hmm I think I'll hit the showers too... I just talked about britney spears.

Hammer: Make sure to scrub hard so you can get off all of the stupid that may have rubbed off from Britney. Cheers!!

MATT_MAN...seems that you have a subject to poke fun of....the heads of the media outlets who feel that el Bite-me and K-Nine dog food are more important than the deaths of the monks, or the deaths of young men and women fighting a senseless 'war'...I have so given up on watching any of it and find the news by surfing the internet to see what is being written about around the world...

Now...did you blow your wad for your Friday steam of conscientiousness?

Schmoop said...

Bond: You are correct they pretty much suck. As far as Friday, I think I'll be fine by then and streaming stronger and harder than Pamela Anderson's trichomonas discharge. Cheers!!

Odat: You dont like it eh? Well this is just like a NY Deli, you'll get it the way I wanna serve it. Make ya feel at home now? ; ) Cheers!!

You were just defending O'Reilly the other day and called him hot on my blog about ten minutes ago. And now you're defending El Rushbo?

You are going through some kind of a metamorphosis, and I have yet to determine if it is safe for America. ;)

In all seriousness, this kind of shit gets coverage because America is in a giant funky depression and the Britney shit helps us to think that as long as famous people are still getting in trouble, the world isn't going to turn into a giant flaming ball of war. :) Brit's lawyer has revealed why custody was switched. She doesn't have a driver's license and was therefore unable to submit for her drug tests. Convenient, no?

Schmoop said...

Allie: I agree with you about the Britney crap, and yes, I have a man-crush on O'Reilly...I wanna be his falafel boy. Cheers!!

North America’s largest producer of methane!!!! that is PERFECT!

at lunch yesterday a group was having an indepth discussion on China...olympics, recalls, monks, et cetera. I made some flip comment praising God for no more news about Britney. In the afternoon three of my friends called to accuse me of jinxing the Britney news return.

That's because it's the crap that sells and makes money. Who wants to hear about all of the good that happens?

She may not be fat...she doesn't have a clue or two brain cells to rub together. The only reason she has a head is to hold her ears apart...LMAO

Hey ya can always talk about my state senator Larry Craig for a foot stomping good time. I wish he would just go away...Sense I live here I hear it every hour of every day man..."AAAAAAAAAAAA"

Schmoop said...

Katherine: See how you are? Your "Orange Irish" came out and jinxed us all!!

Jillie: In addition to keepin gher ears apart her head is featured in hotel videotapes as well.

Roger: I was behind the Larry Craig story since it came out...so to speak. Cheers!!

Hey they could be talking about the economy and the stock markets roller coaster ride, but hell not even stock people understand that

Schmoop said...

Sparky: What is this stock market thing of which you speak?

Sarge Charlie said...

tit for tat, I thought it was Oxyclinton....... Oh btw, your facts are not correct on rush, if you take media matters as a reliable source we are in trouble.

There are transcripts of what was said if you are interested.

Schmoop said...

Charlie: What facts that I stated are not correct? Let me know...Cheers!!

Sarge Charlie said...

stop by matt, i did a post

Schmoop said...

10-4...

Sarge Charlie said...

If I was smart, I would delete my original comment and move on but the Old Sarge is a big man, big enough to admit that I read part of your post and made an assumption of where you were going, sorry my friend, next time I will read each and every word. I do not even disagree with you, I think that our leaders are wasting time when important things need to be done. It is all political, on both sides of the aisle......

Schmoop said...

Sarge: In a way I am glad you made an assumption because it resulted in me finding out that there are still a few people in this world who admit a mistake. I try to make sure to point when I am mistaken and I respect it when others do the same.

Your last comment about the lack of important things getting in our government is on the mark as well. Thanks for stopping by.

PS...I still plane on making sarcastic remarks on your site, and I hope you do the same on mine. Cheers!!

The lack of real news drives me crazy, too.

How about them Packers? ;)

Schmoop said...

Kila: Keep your sanity and if you are a Packers fan, that IS big news at 4-0. Cheers!!

Brit lost her kids? There is a god.

It is hard to keep one's sense of irony when the world is just too far out of whack, isn't it?

Schmoop said...

Boy: Yeah she lost them, what a shame eh? And yes, the funny has become the norm. It's pissin' me off!!
