Sunday Morning Church Disservice: Mike Huckabee, A Primary Vision

It’s a relatively warm Sunday here in Bagwine, Ohio. Something even warmer in my life however, is the vision that I saw last night.

Yes, like most holy men, I too from time to time receive a word from God through whispers and visions. But when he speaks to me through my cat, it really freaks me out.

Anyway, the vision I had was that of a man, a prophet, a President. I spoke to Roger of Idaho Daily Photo about what I saw, and he was able to create an artist’s conception of my vision which you see in the picture above.

I wrote down what transpired in my dream and put it to song. Enjoy.

Mine eyes have seen a vision of a Presidential man
Who has his finger on the button and a Bible in his hand
He’d like to kill bin Laden but he can’t find Pakistan
But the Huckster’s rollin’ on…

Glory, Glory, Huck-a-Beeyah
Glory, Glory, Part the sea-yah
Glory, Glory, Vote for me-yah
The Huckster does no wrong

Through Iowa, The Granite State, and places far and wide
He’s been reapin’ votes and delegates ‘cause God is on his side
Much like the Jonestown massacre without the cyanide
The Huckster’s rollin’ on

Glory, Glory, Huck-a-Beeyah
Glory, Glory, Part the sea-yah
Glory, Glory, Vote for me-yah
The Huckster does no wrong

Though slings and arrows are slung at him, by the establishment
He says, “Aw Shucks”, and works the crowd ’neath his revival tent
His platform it is simple it’s The Ten Comand-a-ments
And the Huckster’s rollin’ on

Glory, Glory, Huck-a-Beeyah
Glory, Glory, Part the sea-yah
Glory, Glory, Vote for me-yah
The Huckster does no wrong

And in my dream I saw a land governed by Mike Huckabee
The Christian Right had won the game of Hate Monopoly
A Coup de Gras in the name of Christ from sea to shining sea
And the zealots rolled right along

Glory, Glory Halleluiah
No choices, no tolerance, no science in the schools-yah
Glory, Glory, Oh how we fooled-yah
And the choir sang right along…

Amen, and Amen...

I am going to be adding links and changing the layout of my link list over the course of today and tomorrow. So when I am done, if I have inadvertently left you off, or if you'd like to be added please let me know.

- Shane (doc)

Oh yeah and GO OBAMA !!

Schmoop said...

Doc: AMEN!! When God pens the lyrics, my voice is that of an angel. I'm not so sure about Obama.

I like him. He gives a great speech, but some of his voting and political history suggest that he may not have the balls and courage to affect change. Cheers!!

I can name that tune in 5 notes!

Thanks again for my Sunday morning saving!

Schmoop said...

Dana: Saving souls is not just a job to me, it's purely accidental. Cheers!!

I see you in shades,,, and a cheap dark suit. You are on a mission... a mission from gawd!

Schmoop said...

Cheesy: Ha...You made me laugh, and descibed my wardrobe all in one brief comment. That's why I love you so. Cheers Cheesy!!

Roger: Why thank you and thanks for the pic of Mike Huckamoses. Cheers!!

I'm thinking you secretely want the Incredible Huck to win. If he does you'll easilly have four years of material handed to you on a platter. Love the song.

Schmoop said...

Jeff: That would be the one redeeming quality of a Huckabee Administration, four years of comedic fodder. Cheers!!

Leighann said...

You and Huckabee are on the verge of getting me to rethink my views on organized religion!

Oops, nope, didn't work! :p

Schmoop said...

Leighann: That's odd because it has changed my view. I used to be really against it. And now...I am really, really, really, really, against it.

Leighann said...

How about we get against each other?! *wink*

Schmoop said...

Leighann: Oooooo Weeeee, I think it moved. Boo Yah and Cheers!!

Such a lovely voice!

Don't lose me in your shuffle.I'll help if you want things labelled and whatnot. That way you'd have EVERYTHING!

Schmoop said...

Kat: I liked Bill, other than him signing NAFTA. Yeah, it felt good to push some bling through my lobe hole. Cheers!!

Metalmom: Why Thanks...I think I can handle the labelling, but I'd love for you to give me some "whatnot". Cheers!!

You are going to put this on You Tube right?

Jamie: It is already on there. Cheers!!

Ach, you betray Obama, Matt-man! I couldn't stand a guy named Huckabee as President of the good ol' U S of A, Huh?

Huckabee? Over my dead body! :)

maryt/theteach said...

Oh, and doesn't Huckabee-as-Charleton- Heston look like Kevin Spacey?

This was just perfectly written through and through. Man... I still can't get over the Jamestown part. And his platform being the Ten Commandments. Fucking BRILLIANT.

Unknown said...

I meant Jonestown. I keep making that mistake. I used to live on a street called Jamestown and I think that's what throws me. lol

I caught your new song on You-tube last night, I like it! I loved reading the comments. Some folks can't just move on, they have to argue and let you know how far in hell you will be going.

B.T.W. - T-Bone STEAKS?? Dude, you're on butter beans MINUS the Ham Hogs for awhile.

Schmoop said...

Teach: Not quite sure about the Obama man. I think he lacks the cajones when it comes to making what may be a less than expedient political decision. Cheers!!

Allie: Speaking of fucking...er...um...Why thank you my friend. I knew what you meant. Sorry about your Tar-Jay exile. I think we both know you're better off for it. Cheers!!

Schmoop said...

Al: Thanks my good man. Loved your COW pic. The meatless thing doesn't start until Ash Wednesday which is February 6th. Cheers!!

I'll survive. :)

You know, you should be sending these songs into the damn radio stations. Especially the ones who feature guys who do a lot of parody song work. Especially right now, when songs like this are incredibly pertinent to the headlines. lol

Schmoop said...

Allie: I am doing just that tomorrow morning. Are you reading my mind? WLW out of Cincy read my Santa is too fat post about three weeks ago. Cheers!!

Jay said...

That was your best EVER! I loved it.

Great stuff man. God bless you!

Schmoop said...

Jay: Why thank you very much. Whether the next one is about Huck or not I'll try to top it. Cheers!!

Odat said...

Damn, I wish I saw this earlier, would have influenced my whole day.
Instead I had a nice one!

Peace

Schmoop said...

Odat: Ha...Aren't you clever. Cheers my friend I hope you have had a good one. Cheers!!

Travis Cody said...

Another great parody. Pretty soon you'll have enough material to go on tour.

Vinny "Bond" Marini said...

As Katherine pointed out...the bling is back, though that does not make me shiver any less as you seem to have been taken over my the soul of Oral Roberts...

I have called upon the services of # Father Damien Karras and Father Lankester Merrin to visit you prior to the head spin and pea soup spewing begins....

Glory Glory Matt-Man will be saved
Glory Glory he does not have his head shaved
Glory Glory we will make sure
Mike Huckabee does not win...

Schmoop said...

Travis: That's my plan my good man. Cheers!!

Bond: Karras was a slacker that's why he got killed by Linda Blair. If he had faith, my message would have saved him.

Kila said...

LOL, go Huckster! Obama scares me more.

If you can stand a right-winger, you can add me to you list ;)

Schmoop said...

Kila: I do like balance so consider yourself added. Cheers!!

Boy: Ha. Sorry 'bout that. But good to see ya. Cheers my good man!!

Cinnamon Girl said...

Ahh Matt that was choice. Ruffle those evangelical feathers, my friend. Are the Huckabites still freaking out on your Youtube account?

Schmoop said...

Starr: This one has not ellicited the response I had hoped for. Oh well. Cheers!!
