It Ain't Easy Feelin' Green

Happy Saturday to everyone.

Well, to everyone but me. Ol’ Matty-Boy is sick.

At about 3:15 P.M. yesterday, I got dizzy…every sweat gland in my body opened up, and then…it happened.

Projectile vomiting on a scale not seen since Karen Carpenter stuck her finger down her throat after eating turkey, mashed potatoes, and stuffing on Thanksgiving night back in 1981.

The headliner of my vomitous vaudeville show was a fried egg sandwich that Schmoop had made for me at around noon yesterday.

I got most of it in the toilet but I did ruin the rug that sits in front of the shower, and some found its way to my lower legs.

It was NOT good. Needless to say I had to call in sick to work, which is a financial bummer. It was a last minute call too, so I felt bad about that, but Holy Cow, I was dying.

My head still hurts. My stomach still feels funky. I still feel clammy and my body is one big ache.

The only reason I am typing this is because after lying on the couch for nearly 15 hours, I had to get up for a little bit.

So, I will be spending my Saturday recovering so I can work my usual 11-7 shift on Sunday. I want to thank Little Bill for filling in for me at the last minute. Thanks, dude!!

Before I go, something on a lighter note. We just received the new 2009-2010 Clark County Yellowbook.

I always peruse the new phone book when it comes out, because, well, I’m a dork that way. Anyhoo, this edition contains a comedic gem in one of its advertisements in the Physician section.

What is it, you ask? Take a look below…

Ha. Sometimes one's name determines one's future career, no?

Cheers!!

sorry you feel yuck. hope you are on the mend...

could be food poisoning if you're already keeping coffee down.

The Dr Rak thing is a riot...but I'm a bit concerned you read the telephone book....

Kat: I was thinking maybe the eggs were tainted or bad...I checked the date and it's fine, so I don't know.

Ha. I was quite amused by Dr. Rak as well, and THAT is why I read the phonebook. Cheers Kat!!

did schmoop have an egg sandwich as well?

Schmoop said...

Kat: Nope...And the night before we had the same thing. I checked the egg brand but there are no recalls. Maybe I'll get Dr. Rak's opinion. Cheers!!

The tummy sure can fight back when you piss it off with something it don't like. You got upper projectile .....
and you got lower projectile.

How's the painting coming?

Schmoop said...

Mick: So far, I have avoided too much of the lower. The paint looks really good but it has been put on hold today. Cheers Mick!!

Holy Cow! in our family we try and avoid vomitting at ALL COSTS - so I feel for ya M2. It makes me queezy just reading about it.

Dice: The first go around was a good one alright. Wow. Have a good weeknd Dice. Cheers!!

I hate it when I get all pukey. Be sure to drink plenty of liquids. Uh, not WIR though. That would probably be bad. Gatorade is always good when I get sick. I don't know why.

Dr. Rak is hilarious. Clearly he was born to be a plastic surgeon.

Ugh, sounds like fun.

Feel better soon, Matt!

Heehee...Doc Rak.

So Schmoop's cooking did you in? Huh.

Hope you feel better soon. An adult vomiting is just...wrong somehow.

You read the phone book, I read dictionaries. Same diff.

Jay: It sucks but I'm starting to feel better. I used to drink Gatorade but I drink something called, Vitamin Water now. The one I just had is loaded with potassium plus B and C. It's pretty good. Dr. Rak rocks. Cheers!!

Candice: What I need is a nurse. Do you know anyone I could call? Cheers Candice!!

Travis: Thanks. Ha. I just happened to turn right to that page of the phonebook. Cheers Tarvis!!

Songbird: we're not sure maybe it was just some "24 hour bug" type of thing 'cause it's been about 22 hours and I'm feelin better.

I used to read the dictionary as well. I am still a huge etymology geek. Cheers!!

Sounds like you turned the corner so I won't make any suggestions plus you have Schmoop. What more could you need.

Do you think that doctor chose his career by him name?

Being that I am so late with this comment, your probably chugging down the WIR and another fried egg sandwich by now!

Stomach bugs are NASTY. The only plus side is they usually clear up faster than head colds.

Dr. Rak indeed ;)

You mean because his name ends with the initials MD he was destined to become a doctor? That is a coincidence!

I had the same thing last week. It lasted for about a day. I don't remember much. I remember my Honey bringing me a glass of water to the bathroom while I'm sweating in front of the bowl.

Michele: Schmoop did a fine job...When I allowed her to do so. Cheers Michele!!

Dana: No on both accounts, but...if thing s continue to improve tonight I will toss a couple back. Cheers!!

Starr: You are correct. I'm feelin better today. Cheers!!

PITS: Ha Good One, funny man. And what you had sounds incredibly similar to what I went through. Cheers!!
