September, I'll Remember...

September is full of holidays and special events.

We’ve already celebrated Labor Day. This past Saturday would have been my Mom’s 87th Birthday.

I’m sure she is much happier now that she has moved on and is getting a well-deserved rest.

And, I am happier for her. She was a good woman.

This Friday, September 12th, marks the 1 Year Blogiversary of Dana’s site, Amid Life’s Crises.

I know; the excitement for that momentous event is palpable…or something.

I’m kidding…I kid because I love. I’m hyped up about it. I am even sending Dana something special to celebrate her special day.

Maybe she will let you know what it is after she receives it. Hee Hee.

September is also National Library Card Sign-Up Month. If you haven’t yet, get a Library card and go explore the wonder that is the Dewey Decimal System. Fascinating.

Yesterday was Grandparent’s Day. I just can’t get excited about that.

You see, my mom was 43 when she had me. By the time I came around, my G-Parents were old…or dead. I have only vague memories of one of my Grandmothers.

I’d like to think that if I was older when my Grandmothers were still around, either or both, would have looked and said something like this:

Yeah, I like that, Grammy…Yum-Oh!!

In a related note…This week I am giving a big shout out to GOP Presidential Candidate, Senator John McCain. Why you ask?

Johnny Mac is gonna be celebrating like a fool because this week is National Assisted Living Week. Lift those arms and raise the roof Senator…oops sorry pal.

Um, just have fun.

I can see Johnny Mac gettin' it on in da Nursin’ Hizzy:

So you think you can dance?

They’re so cute when they’re old.

Lastly, September 22nd marks the second time of the year that the sun will be beating directly down upon the Equator.

Physics, astronomical nuttiness, and infinite mathematical equations make this day what most thinking people refer to as, the Autumnal Equinox.

Evangelicals refer to this day as, “Intelligent Big Blue Marble Balancing Day”.

So folks, enjoy your September. There are big things going on. In fact, I think I will do the following later this month…

September 28th is National Good Neighbor Day. I am gonna walk down to Apt. 3 and hose the hot, new chick who just moved in.

After all, what’s more neighborly than that
?

Cheers!!

It's going to be a pretty busy month, but the only one of those days I'm observing is the Good Neighbor Day. Dude, you should SEE my neighbor!

Jay: Well, get a picture man. Get a Picture!! Just act like your camera, or something, went off prematurely. Cheers Jay!!

Actually October is the busy month around here, but thanks for pointing out Library Card Day. I think I will go and buy some treats for the pot heads who run the Library Science Department at our local University.

Ahem, I believe you left out Sept. 13 where Georgia will dominate South Carolina in Colombia and Sept. 20 where the Dawgs will storm into Tempe and crush the Arizona State Sun Devils and Sept. 27 where Georgia will crush the Crimson Tide of Alabama back in beautiful Athens-town.

Just sayin' ;-)

Cheesy: And who doesn't like a good party. Hey, don't you have a birthday this month? Cheers!!

Karen: You are selfless. Such the giver. Enjoy the contact buzz. Cheers!!

Lady Jaye: Um, you don't happen to be a Bulldog fan do you? Cheers!!

I don't know how I will have the time to properly observe all these important days!

Schmoop said...

It would be so cool if I could celebrate my neighborliness by moving out of this town.

The only holidays in September I really care about are: the day I mt the man who curls my toes... and his birthday. :)

Yeah, I know... sappy.

But in October, we have JayDay (aka Leif Ericksson Viking helmet day) and I'm psyched about THAT!

Schmoop said...

Marilyn: You'd fit right in here in Bagwine, Ohio. Cheers Marilyn!!

Cheesy: I read that. Yippeeeeee. Consider yourself, no longer Amish. Although I still am. Cheers!!

Anndi: Awwwww. Go ahead and sap away. Jay will be so proud that he has garnered International attention. Cheers!!

Evil: I lke Fall quite a bit myself. The brats taste better...the beer tastes fresher, and the windows stay open.

Shouts of, "Dear God, Matt, take me now!!" emanate through the neighborhood through the aforementioned open windows. Cheers!!

One never knows; perhaps your neighbor will do the neighborly thing.

It could happen.

That hoochi with the big bazoombas and leopard cumberbund looks like Peg Bundy on a bad day.

Knight said...

Grandma? How did you get that picture? Those M&Ms belong to me dammit!

Schmoop said...

Songbird: Of course she will, I'm Matt-Man, Bitch. But just for back-up, I'll spike her bottle of "Welcome to the Neighborhood" bottle of Bagwine. Cheers!!

Schmoop said...

Lu: Ha. I guess she does. I just found it by Googling, "sexy grandmothers". Cheers!!

Knight: Speaking of M&Ms, I am kinda like a pack of them. I melt in your mouth, not in your hand. But that would be fine too. Cheers!!

I thought things were going to calm down after a relatively busy summer and now you clue me in to all the September goings-on! Now I have to fill in my calendar!

Now I have to take my pie over to my neighbor's house! I hope his wife isn't there!!

Schmoop said...

Metalmom: That is so neighborly of you. Prior to doing that, don't forget that September is also Gynecologic Cancer Awareness Month. Cheers!!

Dana said...

I am even sending Dana something special to celebrate her special day.

This I find terrifying - absolutely terrifying! And this??

Maybe she will let you know what it is after she receives it. Hee Hee.

Well, let me tell you, if I think it might embarrass you, you know I'll have to share *wink*

Cheesy said...

No longer Amish? I better shave off the beard then~

Schmoop said...

Dana: It won't embarrass me. The only think it will do is "rock your world". Cheers Sexy!!

Cheesy: I am Amish because I like the clothing style that comes along with it. And please, keep thy beard. Cheers!!

Interesting. This upcoming Saturday is MY mom's birthday. So we both had Virgo moms. If you tell me your's was a nurse I am going to start with the Twilight Zone music.

SpOOOOky!

Yes I did that on purpose. Not enough coffee and I am oh so easily amused.

Now onto assisted living. Prior to my foray into the insurance desk jockey side of health care I work patient care as first a CNA and then a Medical Assistant. I have done assisted living. Johnny would own the place. I have never seen a bigger and more frightening collection of horny old broads in my life.

Of course I have never been to an RNC ;)

Schmoop said...

Starr: No, my Mom wasn't a nurse. Well, not by profession, but with nine kids she was a de facto nurse.

And as far as Assisted Living and Nursing Homes, being a former rep for SEIU, I know all about the scandalous behavior within those geriatric walls. Cheers!!

Speaking of Grandmothers...I just became one for the 8th time!!

Your photos shop skillz are mad good btw!

HUGS!!

Vinny "Bond" Marini said...

Hey, I just noticed the porn site advertising...and at first I thought it was pictures of your neighbor!

Schmoop said...

Leelee: Congrats. And I wish I had Photoshop. I only have a Paint Program, and use it to tweek pics from the net. Cheers!!

Bond: There are a couple of hot young chicks on that ad. I am glad they are not my neighbors.

It would be emabarrassing getting arrested for stalking and voyeurism. Cheers Vin!!

The wheelchair picture made me laugh so hard my stomach hurt.
Of course, it might also be this flu bug/virus thing I've had, but let's just pretend it was the picture.

Schmoop said...

Jillie: Boy Howdy!! And I didn't think that that was possible. Cheers!!

Janna: Ha. We will do that. Get better soon. Cheers Janna!!
