Yo Vinny...I Just Heard a Hoot!!

Yowza…This Presidential election is really heating up and igniting a fire under some folks.

I predicted a couple of weeks ago that it was a distinct possibility that Johnny Mac’s head may explode into a puddle of anger goo by November 4.

Little did I know that there may be many other heads doing the same.

I tell ya, come November 5th, if Obama wins, wear your hip-waders to work, ‘cause the streets and sidewalks will be a sea of gooey brain muck. Ick.

An example of this frenzy was introduced to me through reading longtime Bagwine fave Vinny of, Bond’s Big Leather Couch.

Seems Vin didn’t appreciate the fringe right hate speech taking place on Sarge Charlie’s blog, and so, staying true to himself, The Vin-Meister deleted Sarge Charlie’s site from his blog roll.

Vin, Vin, Vin…c’mon man. What’s a little hate speech amongst friends?

I did some investigating to see what precipitated this action. Mainly because, I love to fan the flames of incendiary situations find the truth.

Now, ol’ Charlie is a Vietnam vet, right wing ideologue, and rabid McCain supporter.

Over the last couple of days, his posts have trashed Obama, Biden, Colin Powell, and anyone who doesn’t think the way Charlie does.

Well that’s cool…

I mean it’s his blog and he’s damn well entitled to say whatever the hell he wants. I guess Vinny was simply not kosher with the tone and tenor of the attacks by Charlie and some of those who commented.

Things like…Powell is an Uncle Tom. A vote for Obama is a vote for Al-Qaida. Blah, blah Bill Ayres…Blah, blah Powell is a Liberal. Hmmm, yeah Powell is wayyyyyy on the left.

The overriding tone was that Obama is a Muslim-Lovin’ idiot and if you vote for him you are Un-American, and well, an idiot.

Another good comment I recently came across was a comment that said that Sarah “The Vice-President is in Charge of the Senate” Palin is a much better choice than Joe “As Soon as I get my Foot Out of my Mouth, I’m Gonna Stick it Up Your Ass” Biden.

Now that’s funny…The comment, not the nicknames.

In spite of the hyperbolic, satirical offerings that I pen, I love political discourse. It’s one of the things in life I enjoy most. I live to debate, to foster dialogue, and I revel in the back and forth…

Especially when it’s intelligent. Much of what Vinny read, in my opinion, was not intelligent at all.

One blogger who was making comments on Charlie’s blog, and later commented on my Monday post is named, Hoot Gibson.

His name is perfect, because he is indeed, a hoot. I hate to say it, but the guy is much funnier than I am.

Although, I am guessing his humor is unintentional. Hoot authors the blog, American Babylon.

Now good ol’ Hoot, wants to set off a nuclear bomb in Mosul, and then do the same in Iran. He calls all Muslims, “non bathing sonsabitches”. He calls Vinny and I, “Communist sissies.”

I find his stereotypical, let’s bomb the country that we just saved using billions in Chinese cash, an irreverent style of edgy comedy.

The biggest laugh comes where on his site, he claims to be some kind of born again Christian, tough guy. Ha.

Somebody order more thread ‘cause Hoot Gibson keeps me in stitches.

Oh, one thing Hoot…In your profile, you say that your favorite book in the Bible is, The Book of Revelations.

It is actually called the, Book of Revelation. I thought maybe a saved, Christian man such as yourself might want to get that right. Hey, I’m here to help.

And Hoot, one other thing…you really aren’t the Christian tough guy you think you are…

You are a, self-loathing, frightened by others who aren’t like you, un-Christian pussy.

But, you still make me laugh.

Use the blue links above, to visit any of the bloggers that I mentioned in the post. I hope you do.

No matter your politics, it will certainly be entertaining!!

Cheers!!

Update: I just realized while perusing Hoot "Muslim-Hater" Gibson's profile that he lives in ISLAMorada, FL. I can't believe he hasn't moved. Man, irony is one funny bitch.

Wait...this was not all a dream?

Where did those flying monkeys come from?

For those of your readers not aware, Sarge Charlie and I have had interesting, respectful conversations for two years now.

It has ended.

The suggestion that if I vote for Senator Obama I am a terrorist lover, insulted me.

His suggestion that I called him a racist, insulted me.

The fact that a few weeks ago he posted a video of young children in California singing a song about Senator Obama and then juxtaposing it with a video of Hitler youth, insulted me.

Mr. Gibson's blog with the hangman's noose below the statement "The Cleansing Of America" insulted and disgusted me.

As I said on my blog yesterday, I believe in freedom of speech, but I do not have to promote it on my blog and I do not believe free speech means yelling fire in a crowded theater, thus my decision.

Auntie Em? Is that you? There's no place like home...an America where everyone is equal.

Schmoop said...

Bond: I am glad you aired that. I would have, but then the post would have been 1,000 words long.

As I told you, I like that you made your feelings known and stayed true to yourself. And as I also said, too few Americans do that any more.

And now, lets you and I open a gulag and collectivize the farms. You and I are, after all, Commies. Cheers Vin!!

Everyone must empty their bank accounts and give their worldly possessions to us and we will then divide it up amongst all the citizens of the country of Vinmatt

Our flag will be the symbol of a hand tossing coins to the masses...

And the official greeting will be CHEERS and if you disagree we will put you on a raft and cast you to sea.

I Like it!

Starr: Yeah, many hate themselves and the groupthink kinda gives them a leg up on not thinking they are so bad...There is always someone worse.

And plus, putting things into black and white, and not just race, makes life easier. One doesn't have to think too hard that way. Cheers!!

Bond: Dammit Man, you just confirmed that you, I , and Obama are going to redistribute wealth to the masses. Our Anti-God, Stalin is pissed!! Cheers!!

Schmoop said...

Starr: That works...Or it could be the cuckoo...You know, as a symbol of what we are fighting against. Cheers Starr!!

I do agree completely with what you guys are saying here about the small-mindedness of some folks that is showing up in this election. You would have loved it this past Saturday if you could have been with my daughter, two little grandchildren and I as we went to a church bazaar in a nearby village. A cousin of mine was there and sat with us as we had a nice light lunch and during our conversation, the topic of the election came up. Now you have to understand my Dad's family is generally very conservative, leaning toward being straight Republican voters too whereas I tend to go with the Dems and am a bit more on the liberal side. But I really had thought this cousin held some promise since her grandson (age 15) has been saying since he was about 10 years old that he is gearing himself to run for president when he is old enough and also because he is already a staunch Democrat! But when his grandmother told me that she just loves Caribou Barbie. I almost spit my coffee all over the table in a state of shock and disbelief. And what's worse -to me -was when she said how extremely qualified the woman is too! OH. My. God! You have to be joking! And yes, that is what I said to her! Beyond that, I was pretty much speechless and just sat there in a state of awe and wonder that she could say that and actually believe that to be the truth! I still haven't figured out how they determine "experience" for those running for this position ya know. After all, aren't senators responsible to providing help and leadership, also supervision to their staff, and isn't that kind of the equivalent to being a CEO too? That's ok, you know, I know too, that Obama has the qualifications for the job and the leadership qualities that will be required of him too!
So, guess that makes me a Commie or Socialist -or some nasty type person like that then too, doesn't it?

Schmoop said...

Jeni: Well Jeni welcome to the Politburo you Commie, you. Whether Palin is qualified or not, at least she looks good in the 150,000 dollars worth of clothes that the Repub. Natl. Commte. allowed her to buy at places like Nieman Marcus and Saks. Cheers Jeni!!

Thanks for the increased traffic, on the Christian Hate Blog, it is appreciated.

Seeing this kind of stuff makes me really sad. I know I'm one of your few "conservative" readers and seeing the kind of crap that these so-called conservative are spewing just makes me sick. I know that my view may be limited by my young age but I grew up in the South, with white parents and I'm not a racist. I don't hate Muslims and I have a sense of humor which clearly a lot of these others don't have. Cheers, baby!

Schmoop said...

Lady Jaye: While I write about it in a humorous way, this type of crap makes me shake my head in a sad way as well.

Cheers to you hot stuff!!

Oh yeah, and fags rule, crackers drool!

Since we are getting all playground ya know. Sarge can say what he wants about not being a racist but if he hangs with Hoot, he just lets other say the racist shit for him.

Not all republicans are like this. Not all southerners are like this. Kat and Dana and Lady Jaye don't strike me as being like this. It's a shame that asshats also tend to be such loudmouths.

Starr: I didn't get into it because of wordiness, but you hit the nail on the head.

Charlie is just as guilty by association of being a racist because he has "ties" to his commenters as Obama is guilty of "pallin' around with turrists". Although, I do think more so in C-Man's case. But yet, they don't see that. Cheers Hot Stuff!!

katherine. said...

(thanks Star)

actually most of the people I know who think like the Hoot or Sarge are avid democrats....many but not all live in the south...and only a few are older than I. Only a very few claim to be of Christian faith.

This type of angry venom that we read from the Hoot is not indicative of Republicans or Christians...or any one demographic. This venue of blogging gives false importance and strength to one voice.

Our attention (mine too at the Sarges) and interaction with him just ends up giving him broader audience.

I am grateful I live in a country where I can say...and write...whatever I think and feel. Which also means I must protect the right of everyone to do the same. No matter how adamantly I disagree and hate what they stand for.

at the risk of sounding like a broken record....it concerns me that after the election...no matter who wins...will leave a country divided at a time where foreign enemies will take advantage.

(do people even know what a broken record is anymore??)

Dana said...

Here's my "unlumped" conservative question ...

Why is it OK to name call and spew hatred at the likes of Hooter and Sarge, but when Hooter and Sarge do it, we call it vile and nasty?

Look, I don't agree with the politics (or moral stance) of either Hooter or Sarge, but how is it that treating them, just as they have treated others (and not you Matt, I'm referring to some of your commentors) is encouraged and celebrated? Am I the only one who sees hypocrisy in this??

I felt what Vinny did was a noble (did I really use that word) thing - he acknowledged Sarge's right to free speech but made a moral (his morals) decision to not promote his blog.

The rest of this name calling and hatred spewing? I just think it's brings EVERYONE down.

Schmoop said...

Kat: I'm sorry that you see Dems in your area that way. I think of both ideologies that way. I have as much loathing for Keith Olbermann's rightgeous left wing smugness as I do Sean Hannity's right wing bullshit.

As far as the Christian faith...Screw that. While a Christian, I prefer not to interject that into politics other than noting that somebody else is interjecting religion into the political process.

Anyway, yes, this a great country, and I'm glad we can freely discuss our thoughts. Cheers!!

Schmoop said...

Dana: I can't answer for those who commented, but if you are referring to me name calling...Let me say a couple of things.

Mr. Hoot makes no qualms about hating Muslims, Communists, gays, and others who don't think like him.

Charlie thinks "Oh Dear God", and has a case of the vapors over those who don't vote for McCain.

I haven't called them anything that they haven't demonstrated, and thusly called themselves. Cheers!!

Dana said...

You silly, the reason I wrote "... not you Matt, I'm referring to some of your commentors" was because I wasn't referring to you but to some of your commentors *gigglesnort*

katherine. said...

yeah..most of what I was speaking to was what was being said in the comments as well.

and...just to be clear...not specifically the dems "in my area" but in a dozen or more states....

Schmoop said...

Dana: Okay...I read too quickly. You win. I am yours as a result. Do with me what you will. Whadda ya wanna do to me. ; )~ Cheers!!

Schmoop said...

Kat: And what are these Dems you speak of saying? Cheers!!

Knight said...

You know, I do feel bad about addressing the bloggers directly because that is not an effective way to get a point across. I get really worked up and carried away when such hatred comes out towards race, sexual preference, religions, and so forth. These are the tools people use to scare people. A hangman's noose isn't funny. It's a threat.

Schmoop said...

Knight: I took the noose picture directly off of Hoot's site. He wants liberals and left wing journalists to be hung. He wants as he says, "to cleanse America."

Hoot is a moron...What else can one say? Cheers Knight!!

Cinnamon Girl said...

As one of "those" commentators I make no apologies for calling someone who has a noose on their site and hates "fags" an asshat.

Is it hypocritical to call names on those who call names? Yup. But it does not in the least change the fact that bigots and those who want to nuke and or hang people are asshats.

Sometimes calling shit that stinks shit rises a bit above "name calling." I didn't reference their choice of President. I merely commented on the fact that as people who hate Jews Fags and Blacks they are ASSHOLES.

Schmoop said...

Starr: I whole heartedly agree. As far as I go, if one makes an informed vote for McCain or whomever, have at it.

Let Democracy Rule!! Cheers Starr!!

katherine. said...

just wanted to point out that before you and Vincent engaged the guy he had less than ten comments (besides his own) in his weblogs entire existense.

he lives for the fight....he baits and waits...for something just like this.

and now all of us are aware of him and his hatred....

Liz Hill said...

I do have to agree with kat about giving him traffic. It's one thing to look at a train wreck but quite the other to be the barker.

Ignorance and fear cut across party lines. Common denominator is usually organized religion.

Schmoop said...

Kat: I understand what you are saying, but as you said it's one more hater exposed. I can live with the give and take of that. Cheers!!

TB: Damn Straight. Organized religion is typically a root cause, however, I can't ignore idiots and what they say, and I don't what others to do that either. Cheers!!

Dana said...

I'm with Kat ... *sigh* ...

Cinnamon Girl said...

Well neither of them got any traffic from me. When Sarge attacked Kyra out of the blue on his website last year I rightly figured out he was a bully looking for attention.

Believe it or not I've known THREE people named "Hoot" in my life. And each of them have been funny as hell. ;-)

If you want your kid to have a great sense of humor, name him Hoot.

Vinny "Bond" Marini said...

Katherine, you are correct...Matt and I doubled the amount of comments on his blog, and I tried to get into a discussion with him...he made assumptions about me and I tried to correct him. He put a new post up and tried to bait me again...I spit the hook.

I don't need to get my blood pressure up over someone like him.

As I have said in other areas, the funny thing is I have voted across party lines and will continue to do so. A political party does not garner my vote. The candidate does.

Nancy and I do not see eye to eye and some issues, but we also agree that allowing one to have a political view of their own is what makes this country great.

When I called him a racist he explained the noose was not there for blacks but for liberals and journalists (as Matt pointed out) and that is just as scary in my opinion.

I honor everyone's right to practice whatever religion they want, this man feels that since I am a "liberal" (though I consider myself an Independent with some liberal and some conservative views) that i must be a heathen.

You will never change someone whose hatred for those unlike themselves is so ingrained.

And as I mentioned in one of my comments to him, MY AMERICAN gives even people like him the rights that allow them to express their views.

I am also very afraid for our country with this election upon us. I am afraid of the divide that has been created by the hate-mongering going on...It feels to me what must have been prominent in the early part of the 1990's and I had so hoped we had moved on from that.

Dana said...

Vinny (and Matt too), in response to your comment above, do you believe the "hate-mongering to be one sided? Maybe it's because most of the blogs I read tend to lean a bit left of center, but I generally feel like I am lumped in with the "hate-mongers" because I won't be voting for Obama (and no, this doesn't apply to you or to Matt). It seems those left of center want to jump on the "It's a racist decision" band wagon when anyone dares to disagree with Obama's policies. I'm just tired of trying to justify my informed decision as not racist - as not hate-mongering - as nothing more than a dislike of the man's policies.

Schmoop said...

Starr: I agree. And I for one, just don't have it in me to give them a pass. Cheers!!

Dana: That "Hate the sin, love the sinner." thing has always confounded me. It's like someone saying, "I don't hate Jews; I just wish they wouldn't practice Judaism." Cheers!!

Evil: As I told Vinny earlier it is good to have some mindless fun once in awhile. It's like watching cartoons. Cheers!!

Dana said...

Actually Matt, it is no different than being upset/disappointed/disgusted with Ryno's behavior, but loving HIM in spite of his behavior. I have no doubt you are quite adept at that philosophy - most parents are *wink*

Schmoop said...

Jay: Ha. I was waiting for you to chime in. You didn't disappoint. Cheers!!

Bond: Quit being so open-minded. That will get you nowhere!! Cheers Vinny!!

Dana: Of course it's not one-sided...You know that I have long had a loathing for Olbermann. He's as blindly left as Sean Hannity is right.

If someone tells you that you must be a racist because you don't agree with O-Man, tell them to fuck off.

Hell I was a Biden, and then a Hillary voter. I'm not a huge Obama backer, but because of the "outrage" and lies about him by the simpletons that I have exampled in my post, I hope he wins decisively. Cheers!!

Schmoop said...

Dana: I disagree because as we are talking about the sin/sinner theory, human nature is involved.

It's like when someone who "loves" you says they are telling you something for your own good. That is usually a guise and they really mean that they disapprove of the person.

Cheers!!

Vinny "Bond" Marini said...

Honestly Dana, I have heard life-long Democrats say, "I am a Democrat, but I can't vote for Obama..." leaving in the wind that 'race card' - because they never say why...when questioned (and I have) the response is "well, I just don't like him"

I am saddened that someone would say those things to you.

You state why you are not voting for him. YOUR RIGHT and I respect it.

Telling me I am a terrorist-loving, atheist who is supporting al Qaida because I support a candidate or calling you a racist because you do not support that candidate is wrong...I don't care who says it.

And, let me state, I don't believe this is a Republican v Democrat thing...

Finally, you do know you are wrong though...right? LOL KIDDING!

I have at least three conservatives that visit my blog on a regular basis, and whose blogs I visit, and I have to say that I do have a hard time seeing their perspective sometimes but most of us are trying hard to tread a less radical line.

I feel like some conservatives are suffering backlash over some of the hate speech that's been directed at Palin... I mean especially before the troopergate thing and this latest scandal with funding her kids travel. It's pretty obvious to me that there has been some corruption there but conservatives are mad as heck and feel like they have to make us all see their perspective.

Also, I think they might feel a tad bit desperate, watching the world veer away from their world view. Really, a tad bit more "socialism" would not be the end of the world as we know it. Don't most of us envy the Canadian medical system? Well, I do anyway.

Or were you talking about grease as in bacon fat...yum...BACON! I even mention BACON tomorrow on The Couch...did I say YUM!

Katherine, Nancy and I were just discussing that very thing. Would a Muslim running for office cause you to have the same reaction? Would a member of the KKK? How about Jane Fonda or even (dare I say it) Bill Ayers?

Personally, I would have a problem with the second and third examples, but truly think I could vote for a Muslim depending upon their philosophy and political leanings.

Isn't it nice to have a civilized discussion about the issues?

Truly.

katherine. said...

grease...be it from

katherine. said...

a muslim?

It would depend on the individual. Sunni is a sect of Islam that would not be acceptable to me under ANY circumstances.

An active KKK member would elicit anger from me. However the number of current congressmen and senators with PREVIOUS klan affiliation may surpirse you.

I do not believe Fonda and Ayers would be called to serve....nor do I believe they would offer themselves up to the scrutiny.

There are other individuals who would infuriate me. But not to the extreme as I have read in the aforementioned posts.

I think Arnold would make a decent president.

Starr: You make the Oracle of Delphi sound soooo sexy. Cheers!!

Bond: I wasn't saying that I would vote for anyone. I thought Kat was talking about types of people not particular people. Cheers!!

Kat: Arnold is gay and he has shrunken balls from steroid use. How do I know? I don't. I just made it up. There are plenty of KKK-Type reps...Of course that is true of any walk of life. Cheers!!

Followed you here from Sarge's blog.

I think Sarge does a good job at fielding opinions that run counter to his. He uses a lot of hyperbole, but then he feels it's the best and most accurate way to depict what he thinks. And yes, you're right, it's his blog he can say whatever he wants.

However, the other posters on his blog aren't nearly as open to discussion as him.

Anyway, nice blog, here. I'll check back.

DAMN - I take a break from the bloggo-sphere for three weeks and look what you've done. I swear, can't leave you guys alone for five minutes....XP

I am very happy to say that I am totally in the dark when it comes to Canadian politics, let alone American ones. But I can spot a biggot when I sees one.....

I agree that yes, it's Charlie's blog to write what he sees fit, just as it is Vinny's choice to decide who's blog he links to. I am choosing to not visit Charlies, or Hoot's blog, simply because I deal with enough small minded, biggoted, ignorant assholes in my daily reality.

Ignorance of anything spreads fear, and hatred, and that in turn begets violence and death.

I see enough of that when I open up the morning paper.

Tolerance is what makes us human, and I wonder if those who preach racism and anti-everything will one day decide to join the human race.

MWAH to you Matty and to all your wonderful readers who commented and gave me a good chuckle. You've got some rare gems here - and I think I'm going to go visit a few!

Kanani: Thanks for the kind words. And thanks for stopping by; I appreciate it. Yeah a couple of those folks on his blog are goofs, but hey, that's true anywhere one goes in the blogosphere. Cheers!!

Angell: Hiya Baby!! Glad you got a chuckle and your words are spot on. Have a lovely weekend. Mmmmmmwha. Cheers!!

Matt-man, hey how're you? I know I haven't been around in a while but I just had to leave you a comment after reading your comments at Sarge Charlie's. Does that guy realize that you are being sarcastic, ironic? And how do you do it so well? You may or may not know He and I have had words that upset him so that he gave me the Yellow-bellied Sapsucker award and wrote a post telling me what he believes in
Just had to congratulate you on your subtle ability to give it to Sarge and he doesn't even know it! Ha! You Rock!
