Cringing at the Second Hand While Smiling at My Son

I apologize, but today’s post is a strictly utilitarian entry upon the pages of Bagwine Ruminations.

My work schedule has changed and will be in flux for a few weeks to come. I know…you feel for me, and I appreciate it.

I worked a good portion of this past weekend and will continue to do so. My weekend responses to your comments have suffered as a result.

I feel so inadequate. You see, other than when I am in bed with a hot chick, my ability to multi-task is merely average.

And usually, that doesn’t bother me too much because I hate that word…multi-task.

But, there is so much going on during Christmas, I don’t want to non-multi-task myself out of any fun.

The Christmas cards I am sending out...Oy Vay!! I said they would all be out by today. Ha. I kill myself…That ain’t happenin’.

Actually, eight of them will be mailed today, and for me and my procrastination, that’s a pretty damn good number.

Trust me though, the artistic and comic genius I am applying to your cards will be worth the wait. I’ll have them all sent out this week, and that, you can count upon.

In addition to making the cards…

I have been working on a couple of new songs for your yuletide enjoyment which I will record for you over the next few days.

I am currently working on a few other Bagwine related things…

Things like updating my CafĂ© Press site…Possibly doing an internet radio show…and starting today, making a pitch to a regional potato chip company to have my son be their spokesperson.

I want to have all of that ready to go shortly after the first of the new year.

In the meantime, I also cart my kid home from school, take and pick Schmoop up from work, and of course, am always available to give her a few glossospasms as well as the high hard one.

And of course, there is the whole Christmas thing coming up and Ryno has needs. I just have to figure out what they are.

Yeah, I know…My life is no more hectic than any of yours, and probably less than most of you. But, I guess I just needed to lay things out in a tangible way.

Maybe sometimes, a person just needs to write things down so that he or she can see what tasks lie ahead of him or her so that they can focus, and plan.

I must say. In spite of all of this, I am in quite the good mood as I type this.

My 14 year old son has picked up his math average, and he is playing really well for his basketball team. He’s got some serious skillz.

But, the best thing that has he recently done, is this…

Him and his mom stopped by work on Sunday to drop me off a cup of coffee and two Double Cheeseburgers from Micky D’s…well, and so she could get her money.

She said, “Guess what your son did?”

In a moment of fear I wanted to respond, “Oh God, what now?” But before I could, she told me…

“I told him that when I got home from work we would put the tree up, but when I came home from work yesterday at noon, your son had the Christmas Tree up and lit.”

That was sweet.

Ahhhhh, maybe the words from his mom and I are sinking in, and he is FINALLY going to work hard at things other than round ball.

If that’s the case, that’s the best present I’ll get this Christmas. Well…

Other than waking up Christmas morning and seeing Schmoop standing over me wearing nothing more than thigh high boots, holding a pitcher of Bloody Marys in one hand, and using the other to shove a big candy cane in and out of her mouth.

Cheers!!

well well, this may be the one and only time I ever come FIRST with you Matt-Man (it's been good for me so far; has it been good for you?) ha Ha HA!!!

Hey, I got NINE cards out today.

Don't rush. Take your time. Something worth doing right...

btw, something on your website it really messing with my computer (loading-wise). has anybody else mentioned it?

have a GREAT week!

Dice: It was fantastic for me!! I think it should load more smoothly now. I think it was the ads, which I removed for now.

And you're right, since I am doing the cards I should do them well. Cheers Dice!!

Here MattMan. This is the gift I'd give to you were I in rumination land.

Cheers!

Kanani: Ha...And not only would I like it, I would display it proudly in the window. Frah-Jill-Eeee. I love that movie. Thanks Kanani. Cheers!!

I can sooooo relate to the procrastination thing, my friend, but this weekend was actually productive here in the birdcage, so there is hope for you. There is hope.

Actually, my Monday post is a silly little thing that will take you all of 20 seconds to view and comment, so c'mon over!

Oh, and Ryno? He's truly your son. He's showing his compassionate side, the one you don't air very often. At least not around here.

But we know it's there.

Schmoop said...

Songbird: He's a keeper. I'll bounce right over there. Cheers!!

And wonderful news on Ryno!

Sheet, You Work?

I could have never guessed, that sucks, but someday you to can be retired like Hoot. Trust me Matt, once retired, you will never want to work again. Make the old lady work 3 jobs and head to the keys for the winter. You can hang with me on the beach and in the bars.

Schmoop said...

Dana: I would love to, but one, I need the time and two, I need to have something to say. Having something to say is always helpfull when doing a show like that. Cheers Dana!!

Hoot: I am probably going to work until I drop over. And ha!! If I had the authority to ask that of Schmoop, the only keys I would see are the ones to the way out, and I 'd better not forget to lock the door behind me!! Cheers!!

...that candy cane thing...isn't that naughty?...

Schmoop said...

Phfrankie: Nothing...And I mean NOTHING gets by you, Phfrankie. Cheers!!

how cool that Ryno put up the tree! he's a good kid, but of course you know that

real life gets in the way of blog-land.

I would wait for you forever.

Schmoop said...

Di: Mmmmmmm, knowing that makes me hot. I always forget to figure in my procrastination into my deadlines. Ryno, while he loses perspective once in awhile is a GREAT kid. Happy Birthday to ya once again. Cheers Di!!

Pitch Grippo's...it looks like him on the package!
Think he'll be OK, with wearing a hat like that?

Jay said...

Grippo's would be making a good move to get Ryno signed to an endorsement deal while they can still afford him.

And you DEFINITELY should do a radio show! Seriously, that would be great.

Schmoop said...

Micky: He's hat man...He'd love wearingt the chapeau for Grippo's. Cheers Mick!!

Jay: I'd like to do one, but I need to develop a format. I don't want to go into it willy-nilly. Yeah, I used that word. Cheers jay!!

Candy cane? You have a rash?

Lu' said...

Anndi, he probably doesn't have a rash, but if his cane was striped I'm sure he'd have those rubbed off by now :)

I prefer to use Scarlett O'Hara's terminology. I am not a procrastinator. I am merely thinking about it tomorrow =)

Don't feel bad. I have slacked on posting myself and I didn't do the usual Lennon one today cause I awoke with a migraine from hell. So I am at home on drugs. Yay.

Radio show? You damn well better have me on as a guest ;)

You are doing all that and still find time to give Schmoop "a few glossospasms as well as the high hard one"? Matty, you are my hero. And Schmoop is one hellofa lucky woman!!!

Good luck to Ryno on the potato chip gig!!

Schmoop said...

Anndi: I hope that's all that it is. Cheers Anndi!!

Lu: I'm Shocked!! Quit implying the truth!! Cheers Lu!!

Starr: I would have you in studio with me. Preferably while you are still on drugs. Cheers Starr!!

Schmoop said...

Giggle: Why thanks, I'll try to live up to my hero status. As for Schmoop? She may have a differing view on the lucky thing. Cheers GP!!

Cinnamon Girl said...

HAH!

How bout bourbon?

Schmoop said...

Starr: Yeah, that'll work just fine. Mmmmmmmm, bourbon. Cheers!!

Travis Cody said...

Dude! You have got to put a warning on the post when you're going to throw down with that high thigh boot thingy!

I like...but dang! Don't spring that kind of thing on an unsuspecting guy.

Schmoop said...

Travis: Sorry...It is a thing of beauty isn't it? Cheers Trav!!
