The Evolution of the Bagwine Abode

I'm still sanding, filling holes, and painting, but at least my schedule is back to normal starting today.

Instead of working during the blinding light of the day, I am back on my evening hours, and thus I get to see more of you lovable miscreants.

Anyhoo...I have some pictures of the Bagwine abode. Pictures that show the walls stripped bare, scratched up from sandpaper, and ready to roll in latex.

I warn you; these "pre-painted" pictures are not for the faint of heart. Here's the Bagwine abode before the rejuvenation...

Looking up towards the ceiling as one would enter the hallway...Some may ask...Matt? Are you going to be lazy and paint around the mirror? Ha. Of course not...I'm going to paint right over the reflective muthafuckah!!

This is the corner of the living room where I look at porn our computer sits.

We have taken down the famous green and white Bagwine slat blinds and they're already in the dumpster. I wanted to temporarily put a sheet over the window to give the place that "crack house" look, but I didn't. The Chinese Lanterns? Oh, they'll be going back up, Bitches!!

The Bagwine Holiday Tree in all of it's 4th of July glory. The wall has a slathering of the new paint on it. The color is called "Silken Gray"...The name alone, fills the apartment with a gentle, foggy, calm..........or something.

So there's a few before pictures fer ya. A little painting today. A full day of painting on my day off tomorrow, we'll finish up sometime on Saturday, and await the new carpet that is coming late next week.

I know how ya feel. This post was pretty damn exciting for me too. I'll try to dial back the excitement level when preparing tomorrow's offering.

Cheers!!

Are those beads hanging from the air vent? I thought I was on only one that did that? Sadly I don't have a holiday tree. Does a 100 year old violin count?

Schmoop said...

Michele: Yes those are beads. Blue and Gold for Notre Dame. And if look closeley you will see a Leprechaun with small wind chimes. Put some lights on your violin and you have magic. Cheers Michele!!

Phfrankie: Thank you, and if I may be so bold...I think there is one word that truly applies to this post:

Riveting!!

Cheers P-Man!!

Ah - the ambiance of a gentle fog. Sounds like getting a bit buzzed without wasting any drugs doing so.

Looks like you have finished the drudgery part of patching and sanding and are ready to wrap it up with the coat of paint - that's the part where it really feels like something gets accomplished.

Cheers

About as exciting as many of my posts.

David: You are correct and fortunately on this paint job there isn't alot of patience involved. Especially since we don't have to worry about getting paint on the carpet that we currently have. Cheers and Enjoy the Fog!!

Mick: Ha. We're rebels who are living the high life ain't we Mick? Cheers!!

I bet there is a story behind every bead and bangle you got hanging...

"silken" fog?

I am trying to see if you have the windows and all taped...THAT is my least favorite part of panting....

I love home improvement posts!

Kat: Actually...the beads were given to me by Ryno because he got a set that were in the Scarlet and Gray of Ohio State. Some of the beads are in the shape of footballs.

I don't need to tape the windows...Yeah, I'm THAT good. Cheers Kat!!

Schmoop said...

Cheesy: I do too. Well, except in my previous relationship when I was being questioned at every step of the process. Cheers Cheesy!!

katherine. said...

are we gonna see actual video footage of you painting?

Schmoop said...

Kat: In all likelihood, yes. And I can promise you this...You will be treated to a tribute to Gov. Mark Sanford's disappearing act on tomorrow's post. Hee Hee. Cheers Kat!!

oh matt...

Just not sure why we are seeing so much play on this.

It seems he was reachable if he had to be reached. Just cause his arch rival wasn't told doesn't really matter to me.

He may be a bit unconventional as a politician...but I kinda find it refreshing.

Schmoop said...

Kat: I have to disagree, which I hate to do when the one I disagree with is so damn hot, but I must say...

His family knew not about his whereabouts, he was not reachable (he didn't talk to his Chief of Staff until yesterday.) His Lt. Gov (who is a Republican as well) had no idea, and this guy had thoughts about being President?

Don't get me wrong, I think his unconventional manner is downright cool, but when it comes to leadership of a state or any entity, I'd like one's coolness to coalesce with some concept of responsibility. Cheers!!

So much excitement, one can hardly articulate well.

There are a lot of leftover Bush/Cheney bumper stickers. You could just stick those over the entire walls. They make a nice collage and wipe up food stains nicely...

Schmoop said...

Songbird: I know. I live on the edge. Cheers!!

VE: Bush/Cheney and food stains go hand in hand after all. Cheers VE!!
