A Day In The Life With Drive-By Mikey and Chicken Nuggets

As I mentioned, I went with my boss, Drive-By Mikey, to Columbus yesterday. The meeting we had was uneventful, but oh my, hilarity ensued.

Just take a look...

Here's Mikey stuffing dollar bills into the parking lot "bank"...

It took a few minutes of me convincing him that that is what you do, but he finally relented.

He only put in enough money for two hours and we were parked there for four hours without being towed, so we "stuck it to the man."

Now what follows is a picture of the building in which our meeting was held..

It's the Vern Riffe Building and is forty stories tall. However, we would only be going up to the 19th floor.

But even from the 19th floor one can still get a good view of downtown Columbus looking east...

In the above picture, the building you see in the forefront is our State Capitol building. Don't ya just love the "sawed-off" dome look? Okay, maybe not.

At one point, I had to leave the building we were in, in order to grab a smoke. It was then I noticed a fine looking Chinese restaurant across the street...

That's right, the Ho Toy restaurant. Who wouldn't want to eat Ho Toy's? I bet Don Imus would love Ho Toy's.

Upon my return home I drank a few of course, received a call from a dear friend (Thank You, Friend), and then prepared another something from nothing meal classic.

I made this out of necessity a couple of weeks ago, but it is now a new standard. It's called Chicken Shit.

Last time, I used "chicken" patties, this time I used Chicken Nuggets.

I cooked the nuggets with peppers, onions, and garlic...

I then cooked up a mess o' egg noodles...

I took a can of condensed Cream of Chicken soup, added a quarter can of milk to it, and heated it up...

Schmoop loves her some peas, so I added peas to the "sauce" and noodles...

And voila...

Another two thumbs up culinary review from Schmoop!!

Yeah, my life is raucous. Okay maybe not, but more often than not...it's pleasant, and I dig that.

Cheers!!

Bic and I love good simple cheap meals just like that.
It looks perfect and it probably only cost $3 or $4 to feed two or maybe three in a pinch.

P-Man: Sounds like you were in the midst of a Ho Toy infestation. Cheers P-Man!!

Micky: Hell, it didn't even cost that much. I bet I made enough for both of us last night and lunch today for around three bucks total. Cheers Mick!!

I hate those parking bank things. The first one I ever saw was in Little Rock. I was like "there's no way they know how much I put in here." And then a tow truck pulled and towed away a BMW. So, I put the full five dollars in.

Jay: Yeah, I was nervous the entire time...Mike said "Fuck It". He was right. Cheers Jay!!

Chicken Shit ...

Now you'll never know if Schmoop is talking about you or requesting dinner - was that intentional??

Matt-Man said...

Dana: Uh-huh, Uh-huh, very funny, but I must say...Schmoop has and will in the future call me many things, but Chicken Shit is not of them...Asshole is, but not Chicken Shit. Cheers Dana!!

I'm thinking dinner that resembles "asshole" might not look quite as appetizing as "chicken shit" does!

I've never even heard of a parking bank. I'm glad you made it to the big metropolis and back in one piece. You should have a cooking show for your creations. THAT'S a cooking show I'd watch.

Matt-Man said...

Dana: I did make chicken breasts stuffed with ham and cheese that looked like vaginas. I should find those pictures. Cheers Dana!!

D: The parking bank is a relic, and the one we used is one of the few remaining...We have tossed that Cooking Show idea about before and still do. It would be fun. Cheers D!!

Yes I did notice that the top of the capitol building was missing.

You're so resourceful! I once made "Spanish Rice" by dumping packs of Taco Bell sauce into white rice! LOL.

"Chicken Shit." Uh, huh. I *knew* you were up to something!

Have a great rest of the day!

Mike: They ran out of money when building it long , long ago and left it at that. Cheers Mike!!

Dish: It reflects who I am: simple and cheap. Cheers Dish!!

Evil: That doesn't sound bad at all, I love rice. Cheers ETW!!

You need to take over that reality TV show "Hell's Kitchen" Show 'em how to cook Matt-Man!

Phfrank "Still Hungry" Bondostein said...

...yes, but can you, or can you not, make a foot-long tater tot??..

Matt-Man said...

Joker: Maybe I'll do just that, but I'll want hot, naked kitchen chicks helping me out. Cheers Joker!!

P-Man: Y'know...just because you asked I'll at least do something wacky with potatoes sometime soon. Cheers P-Man!!

That Chicken Shit looks pretty darned good - even though my experiences with frozen chicken nuggets reminded me of sawdust.

Matt-Man said...

David: The nuggets we get are pretty good and the "sawdust" you speak of has much to do with how you cook them. Cheers David!!

Jeff B said...

So which came first...the chicken or the shit?

Matt-Man said...

Jeff: Yes!! Cheers Jeff!!

Looks like you had a good time. You would have never gotten me up to the 19th floor. Or eaten your chicken shit but I'm glad you liked both.

Matt-Man said...

Michele: Ha. Well said. Cheers Michele!!
