Protests Over Mosque at Ground Zero

Big protest in downtown NYC yesterday over the proposed building of an Islamic Community Center/Mosque.

It's was good to see so many Americans spending the Lord's day spewing religious bigotry, fear, and hate.

I had to laugh this morning while watching Fox and Friends.

Steve "I'll Say Whatever You Want Me to Say Mr. Ailes" Doocy shrieked...

"They have already been praying in that building for a year!!"

Praying!!? Oh the Horror!!!

I'm working 9:30 A.M. til' 9:15 P.M. both today and tomorrow, so I'll catch ya when I catch ya.

Until then...

Be nice to one and other and may your God go with you...no matter which God that may be.

Cheers!!

All sorts of horrible things have been done in the name of religion. There are extremes on both ends. Here's a thought.... How about just building a "peace center" where ALL are welcome to come, reflect and work toward a better community at large.

Robin: Who to say that this isn't what this center would work towards? And another thing, if the WTC site is such hallowed ground, how come it's been nine years since the attack and there is still no memorial on siad, hallowed ground? Cheers Robin!!

Religion is the root of all evil.

It's only a dream of peace and goodwill.

Schmoop said...

Micky: I disagree. I think people are the root of all evil, but some can also be the root of all that is good. Cheers Mick!!

Only two core reasons any living thing is on this planet, pro create and survive.
Religion is a dream in the mind of man. If there was no religion there would not be evil, only survival.

Schmoop said...

Micky: If that's the case, why are you married? One can procreate and survive without marrying. Is marrying a manifestation of an emotional attraction and dedication to your wife?

As long as humans have been around there has been evil, because humans have emotions and tendencies both good and bad and have had them long before religion came around.

Cheers Mick!!

To share my mind and body.

Do you think there is evil in the lives of animals?...

And how long do you think humans have been around?

What or who makes you think that strength and aggressiveness(survival) was looked at as evil in early man?

I wonder what the annual 'let us all wring our hands and carry on like we are the only nation to ever experience terrorism' ceremony this 9/11 will look like

will people hold hateful images up next to their 8x10s of lost loved ones because after all hate is the best antidote for grief

this whole fucking thing is disgusting

and ny pols like peter king and rick lazio are the scum of the earth

Schmoop said...

Micky: I never said that strength and agressiveness is evil. It comes in quite handy, but there is also, and has always been, greed, avarice, envy, murder. etc. And there will always be whether there is religion or not. Cheers Mick!!

Dianne: It is disgusting, and leaves me baffled. I don't get it. I just don't get it. Cheers Sexy!!

"PRAYING??" Oh God NOOOOO! We can't have that now can we?

I bet there have been Muslims praying in that OTHER Islamic Center/Mosque that's a full block closer to Ground Zero all this time too. The AUDACITY of these people to pray.

Praying? In America? Outrageous!

I know!
Let's start a religious war, we Americans really haven't had a good one of those. Let's go for it!

I'm just going back to my beloved canyon lands with my Edward Abbey book and a cooler full of beer where I can commune with creation just as it is. Remember in "The Color Purple," where Shug says that she thinks God gets pissed when people don't notice the color of the flowers? Quite frankly, Fuck the rest of this shit.

What's even more disturbing is that THEY might be praying while sitting next to us on the bus, or while teaching our children. The horrors!!

All those Christians acting like heathens. I almost said pagens, but pagens are pretty cool people.

It's enough to make a person convert to an unpopular religion, like wican.

I assume you already saw what Keith had to say but just incase you missed it http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QZpT2Muxoo0

He says it almost as well as you do.

It's not religion that's the problem it's ORGANIZED religion.

I wonder if any of those protesters ever took American History in high school. If they had they might remember that one of the reasons for settlers first coming to this country was for freedom from religious persecution.

This whole thing makes me sad.

Jay: I know. It's incredible. Of course, they were probably praying for the destruction of America. You know how those sneaky bastards work. Cheers Jay!!

Micky: I'd like to but I don't belong to any religion, I'd feel left out. Cheers Mick!!

Rat: Sounds good. Can I go with ya? Cheers Adorable One!!

Schmoop said...

Dana: I know!! And they don't always let you know that they're praying. Son of a Bitch!! Cheers Dana!!

Charlene: Actually, they're heathend trying to pretend that they are Christians. Cheers Charlene!!

Knight: Thanks for the link Knight. I'll make sure to check it out. Cheers!!
