Liquor stores here are closed on Labor Day. The Puritans convinced people that it would be bad for people to be able to buy alcohol on a holiday when most aren't working. They said it causes more DUIs and shit. Not that they ever presented any actual evidence of this. They don't have to. They have Jesus on their side!
