Happy Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving, you Chuckleheads!!

Something happened Wednesday night that kinda sums up what, at least for me, is Thanksgiving.

Allow me to ‘splain….

When I got married years ago…

For the bride and groom dance at our wedding, I wanted to dance to a song called, “Biloxi” by Jimmy Buffet.

For our honeymoon, I wanted to go to Biloxi.

I got neither of those things…In aspects such as those…My opinion didn’t matter, evidently.

That always sat in my stomach like an olive pit that won’t make its way through the colon.

Among more than a few things that drove my wife and I apart on both our parts, the song and honeymoon thing always irritated me.

I know…

We both had serious, justifiable problems with each other in our marriage, but the fact that I didn’t get my choice of honeymoon destination or dance song has always fucking ticked me off.

But you know what?

Wednesday night, as Schmoop and I were listening to music on You Tube, I played “Biloxi” by Jimmy Buffet, and over to me she came.

She sat on my lap, put her arm around me, and said…

“We will, in all likelihood, never get married, but if we do…we will dance to this song.”

We didn’t get married last night, but we did dance to that song…twice.

On this Thanksgiving, I want to say that, I love you guys. I love my brothers and sisters. I can’t begin to describe the love I have for Ryno, however…

There is one person who comes close to the level of love that I have for Ryno, and of course, that is my BFF/OSP…Schmoop.

She is the one who promised me the song and with whom I have danced with not only last night, but for the past ten years.

So, on this Thanksgiving other than my son getting decent grades like I knew he could, I am thankful for the Schmoop.

I dig her...I love her.

I am cooking all day (what, I don’t know yet), and drinking, and “expressing my love” to Schmoop.

Have a wonderful Thanksgiving folks, and as always…

Cheers!!

I wouldnt mind feeding you good and real food one day- you will still be a worthless piece of crap to me but at least you will be well fed - cheers - and may the joys of the holidays find you.

It is definitely the little things that make all the difference in the world.

And you should move to Florida, then you can use Buffet to celebrate weddings, graduations, funerals, or just a trip to the supermarket… you’ll dig it!

Happy Thanksgiving to all you guys!

PS where did you end up going for you honeymoon?

Ya'all are two lucky people. That drinking and cooking and drinking thing sounds like a fabulous holiday.

I have to admit that song could be considered a somewhat off the wall choice by many people. And for a landlocked town in Ohio?

but.....

It's a very beautiful song, and worthy of a wedding dance.

Happy Thanksgiving Chuckleheads (I hate that word by the way)

...my guess is it would take about 30 cans of Spam glued together into a block in order to carve out the shape of a turkey...

P-Man: That subject has been discussed here several times. We would both enjoy it. Cheers and Happy Thanksgiving P-Man!!

Gobbles! There's something to be said for a low key day with the one you love. I wonder what that would be like. Instead I get my inlaws instead. Cheers Matty!
