Happy Thursday Chuckleheads…
First of all, I want to thank all of you for all the kind words and comments that you sent to me in response to the loss of my brother, John.
Between phone calls, Twitter, Facebook, and here at Bagwine Ruminations, your outpouring of affection was to say the least, overwhelming.
I thank you all for that.
The viewing is Friday and the funeral is Saturday, so today? Thursday? I need to fill a void.
“How will you fill that void, Matt-Man?”, you ask.
Simple.
Today is Thursday so tonight at 11 PM EDT, Jayman and I will be broadcasting another award-winning installment of I’m With Stupid on Blog Talk Radio.
Now, tonight’s show was going to be about Sexism. Jayman and I were labeled as sexist by a certain passive aggressive person because we have chicks with great tits and asses send us I’m With Stupid promo pictures like this:
and this:
However, as events changed with the death of my brother, and due to the fact that we like to stay topical, we thought we would change the topic to the following…
Death: The Lighter Side
Is death funny? Is the loss of a loved one, humorous? Is the feeling of sadness resulting from corporeal expiration, a punch line?
Well…
Yes and No.
Nobody likes to lose a loved one but viewings and funerals bring out not only the best, but the worst in people as well.
There are people who show up who you know really didn’t like the deceased. There are people who show because they “have to”. And…
In the case of a funeral involving a member of an Irish-Catholic family, there are those who show up merely for the free, drunken, post-burial wake.
Sure…I will probably cry Friday during the viewing and most definitely during the funeral on Saturday, but in the meantime, let’s have some fun.
So tonight, join Jayman and I as we celebrate the lives of individuals by making light of death and the uber-maudlin rituals associated with it.
You can access our show page by clicking HERE. So…
Listen in. Call in. And…Help us mock the Grim Reaper and those who fall prey to his psychosis.
Thanks again for your words of sympathy, and as always…
Cheers!!

We're gonna kill 'em with this show!
Jay: We will bury the competition. Cheers Funny Man!!
I feel an Irish wake coming on.
Mike: There's gonna be a big one Saturday after we bury him. It will be raucous!! Cheers Mike!!
Sexist? I think it was sexist BASTARDS ... or so I heard ...
But I'm sure it was said tongue-in-cheek because I cannot imagine anyone being that passive-aggressive!
Death is always a better topic anyway - DEATH SELLS - or something like that!
Dana: I dig being called a bastard; it fits me well. And as for death selling?
Hell yeah it does; just ask Elvis. Cheers Dana!!
Oops, I was so annoyed about someone saying you're sexist that I used the wrong their!
Chick: I'm sure there is a place and that place is called HELL...or something, unless there is a guy involved and then he is in Hell. Trust me, I know this.
If you ever want to send me provocative shots of yourself, you have my email address. Me, Jay, and I'm with Stupid would be most appeciative.
Hope you can stay up and add some sexiness to the Death show. Cheers Sexy!!
Are you having a post mortem roast? I'm going to request that in my will.
Sigh.
I'll attempt, one more time, to listen in!
Part of me always liked going to funerals on my dad's side of the family - because otherwise, I never got to see those cousins, and they're all pretty cool. Now there's Facebook, though.
In the fine tradition of my Irish ancestors, I use the term 'celebration of life' because, if the person was worth knowing and thus spending time for a funeral and wake, then ipso facto their life must have been worth celebrating, yes?
And I trust your brother will be looking down on the proceedings with a snide grin glowing on his face.
Knight: Oh after the funeral and he's in the ground we are going to bury his character all over again. Cheers Knight!!
Sybil: As you should. I try not to hook up with family on Facebook, none of them like me. Go Reds!! Cheers Hot Lips!!
David: He is going to absolutely dig the party that we are throwing for him. Cheers David!!
I'm sad to hear that you have lost a brother but as a good Irish catholic you know that this is the perfect opportunity to get drunk and lament. For JR I'm planning his wake now. I'm starting early because I don't want to screw it up. Plans so far include propping his body in a corner with a glass of Irish whiskey in one hand and a joint in the other. I think from there it should be a fairly successful party.
Michele: Get a nice thin bent white pipe and stick that in his mouth as well. I mean smoking won't hurt the poor fella once he's dead. Happy Wake. Cheers Michele!!
Vin: We shall try, and then resurrect them in a couple of weeks. Cheers Vin!!
if you get a warm feeling today or tomorrow it will be me, thinking of you and sending hugs
Dianne: Thanks Sexy. I still think about you calling me when I was in the hospital. Too Sweet. Cheers Di!!
