Happy Father's Day!!

Happy Father's Day to all of the dads out there. To all the dads who work on raising fine kids, and to those of you who fake smile upon receiving an ugly tie (maginificently hand-crafted by a 9 year old Burmese boy who makes 6 cents a day, and ironically has no father), I salute you. I also give a shout out to all of you fathers who don't even have any idea that you are a father.
Sure, the floozy that you impregnated during a drunken carnal carnival is going to hell for not telling you, but from me and The Almighty we say, Rock On!!
My favorite Father's Day present came from that sweet little guy on the right. About two weeks before Fathers Day three years ago, Ryno and I were throwing the football around when he asked me if I wanted a Mountan Dew. I told him that I don't drink pop too often anymore because it hurts my stomach and I already have bad teeth, but if I did have some pop it would be an ice cold Fresca which I can't seem to find anymore.
Two weeks later I went over to see him for Fathers Day. He met me at the door wearing a huge grin and holding a twelve pack of Fresca. That is carbonated love in its finest form!! So Sweetman I am giving you something this year. It is a wish from me to you, and I share it with all of the fathers and their children as well....Cheers!!
Love and Happiness
Here's a wishing well
Here's a penny for
Any thought it is
That makes you smile
Every diamond dream
Everything that brings
Love and happiness
To your life
Here's a rabbit's foot
Take it when you go
So you'll always know
You're safe from harm
Wear your ruby shoes
When you're far away
So you'll always stay
Home in your heart
You will always have a lucky star
That shines because of what you are
Even in the deepest dark
Because your aim is true
And if i could only have one wish
Darling, then it would be this
Love and happiness for you
Here's a spinning wheel
Use it once you've learned
There's a way to turn
The straw to gold
Here's a rosary
Count on every bead
With a prayer to keep
The hope you hold
You will always have a lucky star
That shines because of what you are
Even in the deepest dark
Because your aim is true
And if I could only have one wish
Darling, then it would be this
Love and happiness for you
And if I could only have one wish
Darling, then it would be this
Love and happiness for you

Happy Father's Day. It sounds as if you have a keeper in Ryno. All The Roadrunning is a wonderful album and that is a truly great son.

Happy Father's Day my friend.

To the best of my knowledge there are no little Travs running around in the world, but thanks for the thought!

Awwww Matt....this is nearly precious....**double checks blog name** Hmmm... yeah I think I know where I am.

Fresca YES! I always termed it carbonated sunshine! Remember the cola counterpart? Tab? Now that was gross! Of course I was way too young to be concerned about diet pop back then!

Ryno is, among many wonderful things, proof positive that you are... a human being able to reproduce. ;-p

Have a great day. The lyrics to that song made me tear up.

Ryno is surely a special guy and I am sure he loves you beyond measure. Way cool Matty--thanks for sharing--well you could have left out the carnival stuff-but then it would not have been you.

Hope you have a great day sugar

Happy Father's day.

I hope the muscle soreness goes away. Maybe you should go bowling more often and build a little muscle. Muscle burns calories. When you burn calories you lose weight. When you lose weight you get drunk faster.

Aaah Matt - what a cool post.

I think we all wish that for our kids, huh!

Hope you had a great Father's day.

TB: Yep I had to throw a little perversion into the post!!

as: Why Thanks!!

Marilyn: Thanks...I lost 60 pounds over the past months so I've become quite the lightweight as far as drinking goes!!

Wendz: Thanks I had a great time and I hope the lyrics come true for your two boys!! Cheers...

Happy belated Father's Day, Matt-Man! I love that CD, as well. I started tearing up listening to "This Is Us" the other day. Yeah, and that's an upbeat one! I think I'm hormonal.
