Veteran's Day: Our Unsung Hero

Today is Veteran’s Day.

A day when we honor those who have served in the defense of this great country.

We celebrate those who have served in not only peace time, but those who served in every American war from the Revolution to those now serving in Iraq and in Afghanistan.

As it should be…however, there is man fighting a war that should be recognized on this day as well, especially since we are entering the Christmas Holiday season.

That man? Bill O’Reilly. The Five-Star of Bethlehem General in the War on Christmas.

O’Reilly has been, for a few years now, waging war against the godless armies of secularism and political correctness and their attempts to perform a post-partum abortion on the birth of the Holy Baby Jeebus.

His attacks against those who would dare attempt to rip apart the fabric of our Christian way of life, have been courageous, forthright, and for him, quite profitable.

John McCain? Sarah Palin? Mavericks? Pfffft. The real maverick is Bill O’Reilly. And he’s not just any maverick; he’s a Messianic Messiah.

O’Reilly will berate, castigate, and intimidate any department store chain that doesn’t allow their workers to say, “Merry Christmas” to the gift buying shoppers.

He will denunciate any school district that dares to hold a winter pageant rather than a Christmas play that involves awkwardly spoken lines by elementary school kids being heard by parents who would rather be at home knocking one off.

He is Patton, Santa Claus, and St. Peter rolled into one.

And his words, like that of a bell at Midnight Mass ring true…

“See, I think it's (The War on Christmas) all part of the secular progressive agenda…If you can get religion out, then you can pass secular progressive programs like legalization of narcotics, euthanasia, abortion at will, gay marriage…”

This War on Christmas is a bloody one, but he will be the first to tell you that, there are no atheists in FOX-News holes.

In spite of all of our 43 (and now 44) Presidents being Christians, he knows that this attack on the birthday of the Baby Jeebus is just the latest in a series of persecutions upon the Christian faith in America.

On this Veteran’s Day, I salute you Bill O’Reilly and say to you, “Keep on fighting the good fight.”

If the power was vested in me, I would award O’Reilly not only the Congressional Medal of Holiness, but the Distinguished Marketing Cross as well.

Happy Veteran's Day, All.

Cheers!!

at my last employer....we had an employee Hanukkah reception...an employee Kwanzaa reception...and an employee "Holiday" reception.

that's where it gets really annoying.

I always say Merry Christmas in the stores....because that is what I am wishing to them...a Merry Christmas.

If the power were vested in me, I wouldn't include Bill O’Reilly in a Veteran's Day post! But that's just me ...

I support the fight to keep the word Christmas alive and well. Right now it and the true meaning of Christmas could use some fighters. These Riley picturs are quite good.

Kat: We had a Christmas Lunch evey year at my last job. I hated it. Not because it was a Christmas party but because most of the people attending were assholes. Cheers Kat!!

Dana: I gotta be me. Cheers!!

Lu: I say Merry Christmas as well and everyone who celebrates it should, but I feel this "War on Christmas" thing by Bill-O and some others is a joke. Cheers!!

This guy makes me nauseous. (not you)

Schmoop said...

Micky: My views on this "war" will become more apparent of the coming days. As for O'Reilly, he uses it to hawk his books and Factor merchandise. Cheers Mick!!

Vodka: He makes me nauseous too, but he is a never ending source of satire so I have to force myself to watch him. Cheers VM!!

CHRISTMAS CHRISTMAS CHRISTMAS!!!

Once I'm done wearing the poppy I'll don some tinsel in your honour.

Schmoop said...

Anndi: Will you don the tinsel in the form of pasties? Please? Cheers Anndi!!

I think freedom of religion might possibly mean that the government, and some TV personality, ought to let department stores do whatever sells stuff the best. Why do they care?

I think they care because they still think freedom of religion means the freedom to practice their religion and nobody else's. At least not publicly.

Schmoop said...

Marilyn: Ding Ding Ding...You are correct. Stores are merely trying to bring in more buyers by encompassing more sales. Isn't that the American Way? Cheers!!

Giggle: Show a little respect for my Vet of the Day, would ya? ; ) Cheers!!

I got lost after "Anndi Claus." You're a gem, Matty.

Jay said...

Fuck Christmas.

Yeah, I said it.

What are you gonna do about it? Tell Bill-O on me?

Schmoop said...

Jay: Ha, you sound like Schmoop. Although this year, she seems open to the celebration. I Looooove Christmas. Cheers Jay!!

Is Papa O (as Colbert calls him) a veteran of anything other than his endless, sickening, blustering, bullshit ridden war on common sense?

And I'm still waiting to hear about how many USO visits he's made - compared to people like Letterman and Franken.

I can not begin to describe my distaste for this sagging sack of empty balls. Christmas balls of course ;)

Schmoop said...

Dianne: You are such a hater. O'Reilly is trying to make Christian America better for you. When you mock him; you mock God Almighty, himself. Repent!! Cheers Di!!

To join the choir...this man is the biggest waste of DNA on our planet...

In this one instance, I agree with him...but I also agree with Dana..to put him in a Veteran's Day Post is sacrilege Sir...

Schmoop said...

Bond: Sacriliege? The Sacriliege is that so many people put up a post on this day praising soldiers and really don't give a fuck about them today or any other day.

I said to myself, I am not going to put up some post where people will say, "Here's to the Vets", when they really don't give a crap about them.

A forum for lip-service for others is not my gig. Cheers!!

Vinny "Bond" Marini said...

Well, I see your point on that...I just end up with a bad taste in my mouth whenever I see, hear or think of this troglodyte...

Your gig works well enough for you Sir...

And I do care ...today and everyday...

Schmoop said...

Bond: Well then, here's to me and my gig. And have a lovely day. Cheers Vinny!!

So that's why my Honey got me a fur trimmed short skirt and matching push-up last X-mas! ;)

Anndi Claus eh? As long as I'm the one that gets to call others like O'Reilly HO and not the way around sounds good to me

More BS from the bag-whine blowbag. Election over, but you can't get it up unless you're showing your penis envy for someone more productive and successful than you{which is just about everybody except your gay NAMBLA partner Ted Strickland},can you?

Thank your for your service to our country{smirk}.

Schmoop said...

Anndi: Rowwwrrrrr. Cheers!!

Hoot: Hmmmm? Penis Envy? Me? I'm more apt to think that a guy who is married, and calls an employee of his on the phone wanting to loofa her in the shower has the envy...Penis or otherwise. You're welcome, and Cheers!!

I'm catholic ..but i swear ..o'reilly makes me want to become a black wearing baby sacrificing satanist...

Cynnie: Ha. I loathe him so as well. And as an aside, I bet you'd look hot in black. Thanks for stopping and for the comment. Cheers!!

Matt Man... the way your mind works? Truly a mystery! The pictures are classic. The man? Not my fav. In all seriousness though, Happy Veteran's day to you.

Schmoop said...

Jen: Good to see ya, and my mind is a bit of a conundrum at times. Same to you, Jen. Cheers!!

I thought Christmas was the opportunity to eat high calorie baked goods and drink Frangelico or B&B.
But maybe I'm wrong. Perhaps it's the excuse to see O'Reilly dress up as Santa.

Travis Cody said...

Big ditto to what Marilyn wrote.

We celebrate Yule and the Winter Solstice by decorating a tree and giving gifts, traditions that predate Christianity. But we don't have any issue if someone wishes us a Merry Christmas.

To each the celebration of his or her own traditions is what I say.

And I do thank our veterans every chance I get, and do the things within my power to support them as often as I can.

Cheers Matt!

Schmoop said...

Kanani: And what is better to do than toss back some Frangelico? Cheers!!

Travis: I agree with her to. And as far as many of the "Christmas" traditions you are correct they do pre-date Christianity.

And lastly, I know you always do a fine job with your posts related to the military. Cheers Trav!!

Bill is such a tool. He looks like the Grinch in that red Santa outfit. Is it too much to hope I see the early signs of Jaundice?
