So What?

Yesterday was interesting…

In spite of my Devil May Care attitude that I project on here, I enjoy a bland life. I want no unexpected excitement.

Well, if you read yesterday’s post by my BFF/OSP Schmoop, or listened to I’m With Stupid Sunday, you know that I nearly had sex with Bagwine buddy, Dana in late June.

Dana and I hurt the Schmoop with our inappropriate activity a couple of months ago, but we did something few do.

Dana and I apologized publicly and loudly. And…Schmoop, when confronted with the public apology, “should we do this”, had the heart to say, “Go for it.”

Okay, Schmoop had a few more words than that, but you get the point.

Anyhoo…

How many of you have the balls to admit your sins? Especially in the face of others?

And how many of you are as forgiving as Schmoop?

Penitence is a double edged sword and courage is a double edged…um…thing?

Dana and I had the balls to admit our mistake, and Schmoop?

She had the greater balls to accept it and deal with it.

I believe there are far fewer on the internets like us that do that. There’s a lot of lies out there, and while I feel bad about what happened…

I feel better that we laid it all out there.

Yom Kippur was indeed a fruitful day.

Cheers!!

OK. I thought all that was made up drama. I guess I'm just not hip to all this. There's always a subtext to things.

Sigh.

As to the balls to confess sin, I'm Catholic so it's required, sort of, at least annually. So next year on the appointed date, I'll confess a sin of this next year. I'm certain there will be at least one.

Charlene: I used to be Catholic...I used to mak eshit up when I wen to Confession, this is a bit more liberating, and real. Cheers Charlene!!

You realize your climb up the coorporate ladder is over. WAIT! You could become a card carrying republican and then it won't matter.

As they say, the flesh is weak. But you didn't actually follow thru on the temptation it seems.

And confessing and apologizing was kind of unavoidable since Schmoop walked in on you, Dana and Kelly in the compromising position.

But who among us has not made mistakes? The fact you regret it so much is proof in my mind of how much you care for Schmoop....and that is what is important.

Mike: I didn't cheat on Schmoop with a dude, I cheated on her with a chick. How could I become a Republican with my heterosexual cheating background? They would mock me. Cheers Mike!!

David: It wasn't the confessing to Schmoop as you said, it was confessing to "the world". Fuck it, I fucked up, and well, there ya go. Cheers David!!

Doggy: Ha...That was kinda funny, but you're still an asshole. Cheers!!

There sure were an awful lot of balls in this post. Seems some of those should have been testicles or gonads or something ...

Ehhh ... some people would rather have you believe they are flawless ... because we all know perfect people exist ... especially on the internet!

Matt-Man said...

Dana: I know we can't perfect, dammit. I admire those who can. Doggy and Snugs come to mind...I feel so inferior. Cheers Home Wrecker!!

Eh ... Some of us just don't share all the dirty details of our lives with the whole world. People don't have any right to know what's happening in other's private lives. We're free to make it public or not. People who choose not to do that aren't necessarily trying to claim they're perfect or flawless. They're just prefer to keep private things private.

Matt-Man said...

Jay: And I think that sucks, 'cause I want to know!! Cheers Jay!!

Jay said...

Not me.

Okay, I'm lying. We all want to know. haha ;-)

Hey now just a minute, maybe some of us have big enough balls to back off and avoid those kinds of sins. That too is what really holds a relationship together, as with forgiveness. I'm sure there are many who can forgive mistakes of the flesh, but the real strength is to avoid the mistake. (just saying)
One other thing...abuse in a relationship comes in many forms and sins of the flesh are a very big deal to most. As Schmoop said, she thought she couldn't be hurt.

We all know, some things in our lives, never ever go away completely.

i figured it was a marketing ploy...

It's not so much the broken heart it's the broken trust that is the problem. Earning that trust back is going to take some time.

Matt-Man said...

Jay: Ha...And seriously,I'm talking about people who present themselves as something other than what they are. I'm not telling people to air their dirty laundry.

Micky: Oh I'm sure it will never go away completely. And that's the way it is. I understand that fully. Cheers Mick!!

Clay: We have to have something marketable first. Ha. ; ) Cheers Clay!!

Michele: True, but we shall do just that. Cheers Michele!!

Some things one would never guess.

so now you delete unfavorable comments just like Dana..you both truly deserve each other as much as Schmoop deserves better!

Matt-Man said...

Raquel: Eh, that's because many people put up a facade. Cheers Roc!!

Snugs: You should change your name to Smugs...or Dumbass. Dana deleted her own comment yesterday Mizz Omniscient. Cheers!!

Dana said...

Obviously snugs still hasn't learned that her intuition and assumptions are seldom right. Man ... that's a LONG learning curve ...

Beth said...

Damn Snugs, You are as sharp as the leading edge of a rolling ball bearing. Dana, the learning curve has become a circle I think.

Matt-Man said...

Schmoop: Hee Hee. Now that's some funny shit right there, Boyyyy. Cheers and Zoves!!

Dana said...

*spits coffee at the computer monitor* Schmoop? Are you implying that Snugs thinking is ... well ... NOT thinking??

At least Doggy's comment was funny!

snugs said...

And once again you are the true pendejo, I am not referring to Dana's removed comment, but the comment I left last evening for Matt..I love how anytime one of us (me and doggy) comment you always turn it in to a laughing fest aimed at us rather than facing your own truth..Schmoop deserves better than both of your pitiful attempts at attonement, I can only hope that despite her abused background she still has enough courage and strength to seek it for herself. As for you and Dana, you deserve each other and I can not think of a more perfect match!

Matt-Man said...

Snugs: Bull Shit...I never removed any comment. It wasn't my post; it was Schmoop's. Not only are you an idiot, you try to compensate for it by lying. Such a sad, lonely, dried up woman you are. Oh the Humanity!!

And yeah Dana, Doggy's comment was actually pretty damn amusing.

Cheers!!

Matt-Man said...

Snugs: And Sybil? If you want to leave you comment that I allegedly deleted in the comments here, I'll gladly post it for the entire world to see on my site tomorrow. Just sayin. Cheers!!

I think ultimately I feel concerned for everyone.

For Beth and Dana and Matt

Everyone has good, well adjusted, well meaning thoughts on the subject. Hindsight is truly 20/20, isn't it?

While public atonement can be a good thing, it would not have been for me. I know this from personal experience.

Personally I'd burn kelly...but that's just me.

Matt-Man said...

Kat: There is no need to be concerned. What is done is done, and we will move beyond that in whatever way we can. Hope you're well. Cheers Kat!!

Matt-Man said...

Kat: I do have a question now that I think about it. What prompted you to comment after all this time? Cheers!!
