The Simple Things in Life

I have been posting for two years now.

And for the last year, seven days a week at that, so it’s catching up with me.

Even to the point where I have been lax in commenting on my favorite sites.

I have gotten a bit burned out as far as writing goes, so I have kinda changed my course.

I have, as I mentioned in my Road Trip video, taken a page from funny man Jay’s play book.

While I can’t say, “Hola, Bitches”, as humorously as Mr. Cynical Bastard, vlogging really takes the pressure off of trying to write something funny.

So, yet another video from me to you.

Simple things that make me happy…

One last note…

I am thinking about doing a 2009 Bagwine Ruminations Wall Calendar.

A calendar full of pictures of me in the Bagwine, Ohio environs and full of humorous Matt-Manisms.

If you would like to have your site advertised on say your birthday or whatever day you choose, let me know via e-mail.

I won’t charge you for the spot. I just ask that you purchase one should I get enough interest to have them made, and at a cost that we can all live with.

I’ll see you all tomorrow for Half-Nekkid Thursday.

Cheers!!

Awww ... I was part of your first commission check! Wait?? Does that mean I paid to wear you on my nekkid chest?? Shouldn't you have paid me for that?? *wink*

I like the calendar idea and would certainly pick one up to hang in my cubicle at work so that I could offend all of my co-workers!

Schmoop said...

Dana: Yes you were sexy. Rowwwr, and thanks again. But yeah, I probably should pay you.

I'll mark you down as one for the calendar. Cheers and let's be offensive together!!

That was a great vlog!

You sent a letter to Iran wanting to do a peace tour with Amedhahajjdhaan? So, how's life at the top of the no-fly list? hahaha

Schmoop said...

Jay: Yes, I did. I think we exchanged 4 or 5 emails in total. And they did send a nice info packet. You think our government knows? Cheers!!

Very nice. I like a Mellow Matt. Love that you have books of your Dad's published writing (that really is a treasure) and Shades found for you by Ryno. The simple things in life really are the best.

I'm having trouble viewing the vid; must be hosing up 'cuz of the hotel's internet connection.

Sigh.

I'll come back.

Jo said...

That really made me smile, Matt. I love the way you talk about your treasures--esp. the items from your parents & Schmoop, very sweet. Congrats on your check!

It's pretty funny you saved that cig butt...you didn't put it in your mouth, did you?

I too enjoy the simple pleasures in life (very much). LAUGHTER topping that list. And you have given me quite a few gut busters recently.
Thank you for sharing yours simple pleasures with us.
I especially like the construction paper tribute - it strikes very close to home.

I would LOVE an 09 Bagwine Calendar!

case in point:

"If you can’t place your left hand on the Bible, raise your right hand, and promise to govern in accordance with the Holy Baby Jeebus, you got no business being in the White House.

Kiss the Religious Right goodbye Johnny. I’m outing you as oath deficient."

ha Ha HA !!!
Cheers, Matt-Man. You did it again.

Matt-man I can bet that you are the best aquisition for your employer. My guess, people come there to purchase goods but also to see you. You entertain and shine in person as you do on the 'sphere I'm sure. Pitter-patt on the construction paper story. Simple gestures... Yeppers, I'll take a calendar. Happy Hump-day.

Schmoop said...

Kat: It would have been a blast if we could have gone. Maybe literally. Thanks Kat. Cheers!!

Jen: They are indeed, Jen. But, dear God, please...No Sound of Music references. Cheers!!

Songbird: Dammitt!! Get your ass off of the puter and get your ass to the beach!! Cheers Dear!!

Schmoop said...

Jo: I wouldn't dare put my lips to it. Since we share the same last name, that would be kinda incestuous. Cheers!!

Dice: Ha. Thanks. And I agree with what you are saying. I'll mark another go ahead vote for the calendar. Cheers Dice!!

Lu: I'd like to agree, but I think they come for the beer. ; ) Another "yea" on the calendar. Thanks Lu. Cheers!!

So if marraige brings on a seven year itch, does blogging bring on a two year one?

I still want to see how you write if you're really burnt out. You are still one of the most proliffic bloggers I know. I get daunted by the sheer volume of funniness in my bloglist. Its always, must read it tomorrow when I have more time, because I always want to read it.

Ah well, keep it up mate and put aside May 1 for the boy for no other reason than its spring and the flowers are flowering.

(Hey, I made it in the video!!!!! ;-) Aww....
Thanks for sharing yours with us. Very cute!
I'll be sending you an email for a calendar.

Jen: Oh the humanity!! Congrats to your kid, and thank you for the Nazareth antidote. Cheers!!

Boy: Hey there, Boy. Thanks for your comments. I'll make a note...May 1st Bloomin' Boy Day (UK). Cheers!!

Odat: Of course you made it. I smile everytime I see your name pop-up. Thanks Odat. Cheers!!

I've been meaning to do a calendar too. I've been meaning to do a lot of things.

Where does the time go???

Schmoop said...

Mr. Fab: Where does the time go? It goes on the calendar you've been meaning to do. Cheers!!

Phfrankie Bondo said...

....how positively facinating it is that I can spend my morning cup 'o joe with someone from Bagwine, Ohio, whilst I am in the Sacramento River Delta of California....nice butt, by the way!

Schmoop said...

Phfrankie: A smaller world is a better world, isn't it? I can sense your envy; keep your hands off of Eddie's butt. Cheers!!

Dianne said...

matt-man - you are simply one of the things that makes me happy.

cheers!

and I'll take a calendar.

Schmoop said...

Dianne: Why thanks. Comments like that make blogging very worthwhile. And the feeling is recipromutual.

Let me know if you'd like me to put something on it on a certain date for you. Cheers!!

Leighann said...

No matter what you put up each day, I'll take it!

Everything goes down better with a spoon full of Matty!

Calendar me, baby!

Leighann: I'll calendar you alright. Thanks Leighann, that was sweet of you to say.

And I know how hard that is for you. ; )~ Cheers!!

Tug said...

I'll be baaaaaaaack to view the vid, but just wanted to say Happy Hump Day & I'll have some humorous Matt-Manisms please, thankssomuch. ;-)

(I could totally buy 2 so my 'boss' can ogle you if you want)

Knight said...

Whoa, where did all the sentimental Matt-Manness come from? Suddenly I feel like breaking into The Carpenters hits. It's a pretty side of you.
Will the calender feature any HNT shots? If so, count me in.

Anonymous said...

I so totally want a calendar. I want to be able to stare at your gloriousness all 365 days of 2009. Please make my dreams come true!

Schmoop said...

Knight: I have my moments. But don't go all Tommy Boy on me. And yes, there will be HNT shots. Cheers Knight!!

Lady Jaye: Even though you're obviously either mentally ill or full of shit, I have but three words for you...I Love You. ; ) Cheers LJ!!

Schmoop said...

Tug: Somehow, knowing that both you and your boss would be ogling me, makes me incredibly hot. Cheers Sexy!!

Liz Hill said...

I'd love a Bagwine calendar!!

Hey sugar--you said "y'all"!!!

Schmoop said...

TB: Ha. Yeah, I heard that as well. Y'know, sometimes in Southwest Ohio, that incestuous, southern twang creeps into our vernacular. Cheers Gorgeous!!

Ed & Jeanne said...

Can I get a special holiday named after me on the Bagwine calendar? I'll take July 22nd, thank you. Great stuff as usual. I'd up it to video too but I'm going to leapfrog you and go right to holographs...

Schmoop said...

VE: Why thanks. But dammit...You are always on the cutting edge. I want to be more like you. Cheers VE!!

The Covert Lover said...

If you go ahead with the Matt-Man Calendar you can count me in for one! Put me on October 30th if it's available. :)

Real Live Lesbian said...

Dammit. I can't see it. But I can see Covert Lover's ass. So all's well. ;)

I'll check you when I'm home tonight. Rowr!

Schmoop said...

RLL: Her ass is a thing of beauty, isn't it? Cheers Baby!!

OK, I've been lurking around here for a while... It's time!!

Pygmy Lasagne sounds awesome! Does it come with some Pygmy Meatballs and Pygmy Italian Sausages? Perhaps some fresh grated Pygmy Parmesan and a nice bottle of Pygmy Chianti?

Schmoop said...

Will: Yes. And to say anymore, would go against the short, pygmy feel of your comment. ; ) Cheers and thanks for stopping, WTFW4!!

Sandee said...

Loved your video. You did however make me miss my mother. Very touching for me. Will Think 4 Wine cracked me up. Have a great day Matt-Man. :)

Schmoop said...

Sandee: Well, missing one's mom isn't necessarily a bad thing. Thanks and yes, Will is a funny person. Cheers!!

Still waiting for my response to Katherine's comment?
bwahahahahahahahahahahahahaha
Maybe I will...or I can come home after a crapola day of work and sit and watch you praddle on about your life...

and cause my day to brighten...well, it might have been you, or it could be the glass of Gentleman Jack next to my keyboard...or maybe the thing sitting next to the glass of G.J.

OH and it has taken you over a year to finally understand it is all about me???

Were you choking up when you were talking about Schmoop buying you the drawing supplies? If you were, I understand...

Beth said...

The softer, gentler side of Matt-Man.

Now it's my turn.

I know I generally give you as much crap as I can muster up in my comments, but I must say, I'm glad to have gotten to know you my brotha from another motha. You're wickedly funny, well read and all-in-all just a great guy to know.

Schmoop said...

Bond: Move away from the booze. Cheers!!

Schmoop: Anytime my dear, and I know all about your perverse Sharpie-Pilfering addiction.

Jeff: Why thanks very much Jeff, not go back to being rude to me will ya for God's Sake? Cheers!!

Schmoop said...

Tug: Well thanks Tug...And just a note to you...My HNT is probably going to strike close to your heart...and your taste buds. ; )
