The Drapes of Wrath

A funny thing about two people who have lived together for ten years…

They still have differences.

Many times they overcome their differences….sometimes they don’t. Schmoop and I?

We have for the most part looked beyond those differences, but there is one nagging difference on which neither of us will relent.

The drapes.

She likes them closed…

I prefer them open.

It’s somewhat analogous of our lives. Schmoop prefers to shut the world out….I like to invite people in.

It’s funny how something like that is representative of a person’s take on life. Neither way is wrong…it’s just different.

Oh well, I just noticed that Monday night, and thought I’d mention it. I noticed something similar with my ex…

She had a habit of always standing in doorways. Whether they were to the outside of the house or simply into another room.

It’s like she could never make up her mind where she wanted to be, or was afraid to make a decision. Funny…

The things we know (or think we know) about others based on those things like that. I think those things are telling.

And now…A shameless promotion for I’m With Stupid on Blog Talk Radio!!

This Thursday at 11 PM EST, Jayman and I will be, among other things, talking about all of you chicks who Twitter and Blog that we find HOT!!

Are you on the list? Do you care? Who knows? But we are going to drool, lust, and anti-excoriate you babes!!

How big is that!? It’s huge, but mainly? We are gonna talk about you, the chicks…The Babes.

A live show from a uterus? How can I saw no?

Steven: Ha...You can't...That's the beauty of it. Cheers Steven!!

The drapes... Top down/bottom up blinds may be the answer. You like bottom up, she likes top down(?)

Congratulations on the new baby!!! Is Kim a boy or a girl?

Steven: how do you saw no?

If lived upstairs, I would open the blinds. But, since I'm on the ground floor I keep 'em closed because people walk by and look in all the time. Nosey bastards.

If we don't get a couple of restraining orders this week then we never will!

Drapes - Open during the day. Closed at night. Logical and normal at the same time.

Those were some pretty astute observations. So what does it mean when you stand on your roof naked, tripping your balls off on an Ambien and two bottles of cough syrup? (I’m only asking for a friend.)

Did you check out those links?

Chris: There cheap ass slat vertical blinds. It is very annoying. Cheers CC!!

Jay: I understand that but we live 15-20 feet above ground level. and yes, let's hope we get legally accosted this week. Cheers Jay!!

Mike: That's how it is now, but I like em open 24/7. I'm a bit of an exhibitionist. Cheers Mike!!

Scott: I've wondered the same thing because I've been in that position myself many times.

Yes. I checked the links out...The church link did not work. So, because I am such an asshole, I am trying to contact them directly through other avenues. Cheers Scott!!

Yea babe, and one these days we're going to get evicted because you like to "exhibit" yourself;)

Schmoop said...

Schmoop: Why would we get evicted for me providing what I term, "a public service?" Cheers and Zooooooves!!

JR is a drapes closed kind of guy and I'm a drapes wide open. JR is shy and I'm, well, not so much. I guess opposites do attract.

Schmoop said...

Michele: Evidently they do. And you? Not shy? I am shocked to discover this!! Or not. I guess people enjoy living vicariously through the likes of you and I. Cheers Michele!!

The Evil Twin and I are all about light - natural and electric. We open the blinds and drapes in the morning, close 'em in the evening. If it's warm enough we open the front and back doors to let light in through the storm/screen doors. Plus, the cat likes to look out the big picture window at the birds, squirrels, chipmunks and the occasional deer that wander into our yard.

Schmoop said...

Evil: I love the light and lots of it. I'd have the blinds open all the time if it were up to me, but alas...one must make compromises. Cheers ETW!!

I think, perhaps, I'm not predictable enough for this sort of analysis.
After your show do you plan to post a list with links so I can find all my new stalkees easily?

Schmoop said...

Knight: I hadn't thought of that but holy cow, that is a wunnerful suggestion. I think I shall. Cheers Knight!!

Okay, I'm gonna mix it up, here. I've got blinds with SHEERS! That's right! Living Room, Dining Room are blinds - always open until we hit the sack. Bedrooms have sheers, so the blinds are OPEN with a bit of privacy afforded by the sweet red sheers.

The window in the kitchen has neither, so if ya wanna see naked, just stand in the back yard and you'll get an eye-full! (or if you're on the west side of the house... I never close those blinds, either. I figure I'm providing a "public service" - I like that - for the seventy-year-old guy that lives next door. His kitchen window overlooks my window.) hee hee ;-D

Schmoop said...

Rat: Oh my...You are so sweet to do that for him. I have email and you could do the same for me. Make sure you listen and call in Thursday. I know YOU are gonna be mentioned. Rowwwwrrrrr. Cheers Lovely One!!

Ooooh-Eeee! [imagine a hog call]

email? I've heard of that...

Schmoop said...

Rat: I am imagining more than that. Cheers Rat!!

Add me to your list of readers who are exhibitionists. I live on the first floor of a condo complex and have sheers in my living room. Which means at night you can see in. Since I'm frequently naked I also consider it a "public service" for my neighbors.

One of these nights I'm going to have to suck it up and stay up late to listen to the show. I'll try for this Thursday.

Chick: I wished I lived next door. YOU my dear have always given me the willies...and I mean that in a good way. I hope you listen in and call in. Cheers my friend!!
