Confessions of a Neophyte Blogger

Hi Gang.

I have a confession…

I’m no writer.

I keep trying to tell Matt-Man this, but he won’t listen. He wants me to continue this blog while he works on another project.

Me…By Myself.

Personally, I think the mofo is out of his mind.

See, the thing is…Matt is very, very smart.

Don’t get me wrong; I’m smart as well, but that cat is the epitome of smart. He knows and retains things most of us will never know, or care to know.

Matt and his partner in internet radio crime, Jayman, are very similar in this way, although…

Jayman may be smarter, because he didn’t turn his blog over to me.

I guess what I am trying to say, is that I don’t think I am worthy of this responsibility. Some of you may think...

“It’s just a blog…What’s the big deal?”

Well, it’s not just a blog.

Over 1,900 posts and five plus years, Matt-Man has not only poured out a lot of laughs on here, he has poured out his heart and soul as well.

I know this may sound very lame and dramatic to many of you. I understand, and I am not throwing a pity party, but this truly does concern me.

I’d hate to see Matt-Man’s hard work go down the tubes of the internets because of me.

Sorry for the maudlin mood, but I needed to get that out there. I’ll keep plugging away, but this is way harder than I thought.

Thanks go out to Matt for having the confidence in me that I lack in myself…or something like that.

See all you pretty people tomorrow…

Zoooooves!!

P.S.  Eleven days until Matty Boy's big announcement!!

Don't listen to Mike. Not a writer? You certainly ARE. I'm finding your blog very interesting and fun. So there. Wait until you are 70 and have told every single anecdote in your resume, some of them two and three times. Then you'll know how hard writing is! lol

I think you've already improved things around here.

Schmoop, my best friend, I have known you for eleven years, and I know you can do this. As I am your best friend, I wouldn't lie to ya (unless it was something that involved Tyra Banks or a reasonable facsimile thereof). Just be yourself, and you'll be fine. Zooooves!!

Mike: Ha! I'll take that into consideration;)

Betty: JayMom, you are the best! Thanks for the words of encouragement!

Jay: Thank you, and with any luck, it'll get better!

Matt: Thank you best friend, I could not have done this without you throwing me to the wolves, I mean giving me a chance! Loves.

Darlin' none of us are writers. I have this same phobia every time I write an article or book and every time I stand in front of a microphone/TV camera/podium. Somehow I pull it off but the jitters just about kill me and makes my xanax prescription necessary. Trust me when I say it gets easier and you are doing great. Coming up with shit to say that doesn't sound like you were raised by hillbillies(if any of you are a hillbilly please know that all present company excepted, of course.) So keep doing what you are doing, speak from the heart and show your passion. Because you are smart and you can write!

Sorry about the dissertation.
Go Beth!

Michele: Thank you so much! I've always had self doubts about pretty much everything I do, so your words do mean a lot;)

Whatever you feel you're lacking, you more than make up for in STYLE.

It doesn't matter what you say it's how you say it.

You say it good.

Blog on.

p.s.:..Everybody. Loves. Schmoop.

You're right, writing a blog is hard and it's work and you're doing a fantastic job. I may not comment every day (because sometimes I can't even find enough words for a comment) but I'm here reading every day because I look forward to "hearing" what you have to say. Keep it up!

Chick: Thanks! It is hard, but I'm sure it will get easier. Right? Right?
