Let's All Go To The Grocery, and See What's Good To Eat

Thank you all for your kinds words on yesterday’s post. I really don’t know what triggered that memory, but there you go. You’re welcome. ; )

Now, in keeping with the tradition of Bagwine Ruminations, I need to do something with no redeeming social value whatsoever. Actually, it probably won’t even make sense.

Are you in? Good!!

Say we’re in the same grocery store, and say…I happen to be one of those nosemary types (shut up, Matt!!); what would I find in your grocery cart?

In mine, nearly every week, you will find the following…

Frozen pizzas, frozen hamburgers or chicken patties, frozen fries (I’m sensing a theme), lunch meat, bread, cheese, and gum.

There are also times when you would find ice cream, cookies, and donuts. Don’t judge. Don’t judge.

After all, I have been known to buy lettuce and tomatoes on occasion in order to balance everything out.

Y’know?

One of my all-time fave TV show quotes, and I have many, is:

“The way I see it…Unless we conform, unless we obey orders, unless we follow our leaders blindly, how can we ever hope to be free?”

--Maj. Frank Burns (M*A*S*H)

Speaking of TV, hey all you Seinfeld fans out there…

Tell me that a day doesn’t go by that something happens to you that doesn’t remind you of a Seinfeld episode. Holy Fuck, every damn day in my world it happens.

I told you that this post would make no sense. It’s like a stream of consciousness without the cohesiveness. What? Huh? Anyway…

Before I get too weird (again, shut up, Matt) I give you this picture because I like it…
Okay my pretties…Have a great weekend, and do me a favor if you would.

Please go visit the new I’m With Stupid website put together by my two favorite morons, Jay and Matt-Man. They need your help to get it going, because seriously…

Even with the picture of that dim witted bimbo in between them, their numbers as far as hits and reads, lag wayyyyy behind those of yours truly.

You can visit their new site by clicking HERE.

Zoooooves!!

I somewhat appreciate your backhanded shout out for our site, but I am more excited that you wrote something lighter for once. I was beginning to think the site should be renamed, Bagwine Lamentations. Cheers and Zoves!!

'ice cream, cookies, and donuts'

The stapes of sanity.

Jay: I kid because I love!

Matt: Ha! I'll try to keep my mental illnesses to a minimum!

Mike: True dat. I'm out of donuts, and down to the last of the ice cream, let's see how long it takes for me to start twitching;)

Cereal, always cereal and lots of cereal and lots of kinds of cereal. Three days later...I'm back for .....more cereal!

Our shopping carts would be polar opposites. Mine would be filled with every vegetable on display. Especially, peppers, mushrooms, zucchini, eggplant and tomatoes. A few fruits, limes, lemons and apples mostly. JR may try to sneak in a banana or two but he knows the rule, "never peel that disgusting thing in my presence". A little dairy, cheese and eggs and tofu. See? Totally different.

Raquel: So...you like cereal? Me too, but only the sugared kind.

Michele: Where's the meat? Sorry, couldn't resist! I wish i liked all that stuff. Maybe I'm just too lazy;)

Milk, bread, butter, cheese, meat, frozen veg, fruit, crystal light, ice cream, oreos and nutty buddys. Oh, and crispy crowns, we love those little tater tot wannabe's!

Chick: We're almost alike! We love those tator tot wannabe's too! Go easy on the fruit, I hear it's bad for you;)

I am so glad you wrote this post - I am making a grocery list and would've forgotten butter!
So - butter, grapes, strawberries, red and yellow peppers, lettuce and salad mix, yellow tomatoes, green beans (for the hamster, shaved deli chicken breast, wheat bread, pita pockets, Laura's lean sirloin, bacon, chicken tenders, macaroni and cheese, pizza snacks, Push -Pops, new sponges for the kitchen, lemonade, frozen pizza, broccoli, those snack bags of various chips, almonds and.... whatever else my kid or I see and decide we need. :)

Spinach, pepperjack, eggs, salsa, hummus, ciabatta bread, beer.

I don't eat at home much.

Hey, that dim witted bimbo made $5 off that photo. I didn't make a dime.

Beth said...

Sybil: Wow! That's an impressive list! I wanna be you when I grow up!

Knight: I'm ok with your list, except for this hummus thing you speak of. Well she shouldn't have made any money, your picture was way, way better!

I always get steak. That guarantees me one night of Hubs cooking.I get eggs because that guarantees one night of my son cooking and spaghetti guarantees one night of my girl cooking. I'm a lazy bitch.

WTF? I didn't get any money for my photo either! What's up with that?

@ Knight - I love me some hummus.

Essentially, my cart would be full of gluten-free, sugar-free, dairy-free, organic whatever: fill in the blanks. Lately I'm in to vegetarian re-fried beans, salsa, and corn tortillas, or rice crackers and roasted red pepper hummus. And whatever is still alive in my garden - which ain't much. And champagne. Yes, I'm hard to live with.

Excellent post, Schmoop! I enjoy it because, well, you're a woman and I can relate!

Happy Friday, m'dear!

Metal: Lazy? I think not, you are smart my friend. Very, very smart!

Rat: What is with all the healthy shit? Where the hell are the cheetos, the frozen burritos, the cheap beer? Where woman, where?? Happy Friday Rat, and thanks!!

Hey, look at that interesting thing over THERE!
Never fall for that. I just walked away with your cart so I don't have to walk the store for my own self.
