It's Presidents' Day...Veto Your Hunger!!

A Bagwine tradition, updated for your bemusement...

What better way to laud our Presidents than to create an Executive Office restaurant with a full menu of culinary delights in their honor…

Ready for breakfast? How about trying an Abraham and Cheese Omelet? Instead of eating it along with boring slices of toast, try our Mary Todd Lincoln Crazy Bread.

If you phone ahead, you can even reserve the coveted John Wilkes Booth.

Eggs not your first choice? Perhaps you are more of a pancake and sausage kind of person, and prefer JFK to Honest Abe. No problem...

Order a plate full of our Bay of Pigs in a Blanket. The cakes are fluffy and the sausage has a hint of Cuban spices. Bueno!!

You can always stop by for lunch as well.

If you like a good hamburger try our Cow-Vin Coolidge Burger. We cook the beef until well done so the meat doesn’t make a sound. Silent Cal would have it no other way.

A well made Club Sandwich is increasingly hard to find, but not at our place. We use three layers of the best turkey, ham, roast beef, and the freshest tomato and lettuce in ours.

This is a giant sandwich inspired by a giant in American Politics, Franklin Roosevelt.

Order this, and the only thing your hunger will fear will be the deliciousness of our Cripple-Decker Club.

Maybe you’d like to nosh on a few appetizers. We got ’em. Try our Teddy Roosevelt inspired, Speak Softly and Carry a Big Fried Cheese on a Stick.

Another popular snack is our William McKinley Buffalo Wings. They are simply to die for.

We have plenty of dinner entrees from which to choose as well. One popular dish is our Chester A. Arthur Mutton Chops. These mutton chops are big and delicious just like Chester’s…minus the hair.

Not a glutton for mutton?

A rising star on our dinner menu is the other white meat in the form of our uber-juicy James K. Polk Chops.

These chops are butterflied and stuffed with spinach, bleu cheese, and seasoned with copious amounts of obscurity. Who knew that our eleventh President tasted so good!?

We also offer tribute to former White House Wizard, George W. Bush. For a big, Texas-Sized appetite try our Iraq of Lamb. Upon trying this dish, President Bush said, “Dang, these is some good.”

We offer some great Italian fare. Start off with our Benjaminestrone Harrison soup, followed by a James A. Garfield of Arugula salad and top your repast off with our award winning Harry Trumanicotti.

Are you more a fan of seafood and Obama? We’ve got you covered. Try either our Oysters Barackerfeller or our Deep Fried Mishellfish Platter.

Ready for dessert? Try our Andrew Johnson Impeachment Cobbler, Sherbet Hoover, or even though she’s not a President, we honor Sarah Palin with our mouth watering, Half Baked Alaska.

Well there you have it, a menu fit for a President. And don't forget...

If you like the food here and want to come back again and again, sign up for huge discounts by purchasing our William H. Taft Frequent Diner Card. Good times, good times...

I think I’ll celebrate by having a cocktail before I go.

I’ll mix some blue vodka, a splash of sweet, charming Vermouth, and a shot of ego…

Mmmmm...I love a good Bill Clintini in the morning. Happy Presidents Day!!

Cheers!!

P.S. The White Death is on its way to Bagwine, Ohio yet again...Oh the Humanity!!

A Three Way With Dubya and Sarah

I received an interesting phone call when I got home from work last night.

It was my ol’ buddy George W. Bush. I know what you’re thinking, folks.

“Big deal, Matt-Man. Dubya has called you before and you guys have partied together a couple of times.”

Well hold on there, mi amigos. The interesting thing about this phone call was…

It was a three-way call between me, Dubya, and….hold on to your jockey shorts and/or diaphragms guys and/or dolls…Sarah “Lame and Dull” Palin.

Damn straight, Bitches.

Seems that Dubya wants me to use my incredible people skills to help Palin improve her image with people who vote for a Presidential candidate based on criteria other than, the return of Jeebus, the suppleness of a candidate’s tits, or whether or not a candidate knows a plumber named, Joe.

The call went like this…

Dubya: Yo, Matt-Man!? How the hell are ya, mi amigo? Long time, no talkie, you funny bastard, you. I need yer help.

Me: Anything Dubya. What is it? Need a penicillin shot?

Dubya: Ha. Noooo. I haven’t had sex outside of marriage since last Election night. Condi gave me a blow job as we watched Johnny Mac git his ass kicked by President Bojangles.

Me: Well what is it, Dub?

Dubya: Hold on, Matt-Man. (click click) Sarah? Sarah!? Yo, Eski-Ho, is ya there!?

Palin: Oh…oh, sorry. I’m here, Mr. President.

Dubya: Hayzoos Christ, Igloo Girl…Pay attention. Matt-Man, I want you’se to help Gov. Palin improve her electrability with thinking voters. You know…the voters who dint vote fer me.

Me: Gee Dubya…I don’t know if I---

Palin: Oh Pleeeeease, Matt-Man. You could be so like my Joe the Helper. Joe the Fix the Governor. Joe the--

Dubya: Holy Shit…Can it, Carrot Top!! Sorry ’bout that Matt-Man. One thing that doesn’t quit on her, is her mouth. If I dint think I could get some off of Nan-Nookie of the North for this, I wouldn’t even ask ya to help. Any advice?

Me: Well she could start by reading…Brzezinski and Scowcroft’s book, America and the World, perhaps.

Dubya: Ha…Did ya hear that, Palin? You’re going to learn about American foreign policy from a Goddamn polock.

Palin: Brent Scowcroft is a polock?

Dubya: Hayzoos, Mary, and Joseph, Sarah…Do you got mad cow disease? Hell, I should have had you’se as my VP. I would have come across as that Alan Einstein fella. Hey Matt-Man? Do you think she should color her hair, git a boob job, maybe have her saddle bags lifted?

Me: Well…Maybe she could study the consti-

Dubya: Yeah, I think she needs some cosmictology too. Yer goddamn brillyenck Matt-Man. You should impark your oysters of wisdoms more often. Don’t you think so, Sarah?

Palin: You betcha, Dubya!!

Dubya: Okay muchacho…I think we’re done here for now. I thank ya fer yer advise Matt-Man. I’ll ring yer ass up again soon.

Me: Anytime, Dubya.

Dubya: Damn Right. Say goodbye to Matt-Man, Sarah.

Palin: Before I say goodbye to Joe the Matt-Man, I’d like to say that during this time of attack on me by the mainstream media, domestic terrorists, and David Let---

And there you have it…Another interesting night at the Bagwine digs.

Cheers!!

C'mon, Pick Up...I'm Phonin' It In

I was gonna take this week off from blogging and kinda recharge.

However, my ego sense of wanting to be with you all is so damn overpowering.

So, I have, as you can tell from yesterday’s Bagwine Jumble, decided to go ahead and post this week, but just relax and sort of “phone it in” so to speak.

Today…Some random thoughts, Matt-Facts, and meanderings.

Y’know…I never had really great sex until I was about 35 years old. Goes to show, that if one keeps “pluggin’ away” good things will happen.

I quit biting my nails at the age of 41. Bad teeth due to receding gums has an upside after all.

I was wondering if our cat, Corky, ever misses having sex. She was fixed long ago. Does she dream of being nailed in an alley by a big, orange Tom who’s hung like a lion?

I saved a soul last night at work. A guy who comes through the Drive-Thru once in awhile wanted to buy some Wild Fruit Wild Irish Rose.

I put my years of Bagwine experience to work and convinced him to go with the Red. I go that extra step for my customers.

My son is flying to the Chicago area tonight to spend two weeks with his Aunt and Uncle and their two kids.

I’ll miss him, and if I find out that Dana has been stalking him while he’s there, I’ll…I’ll…I’ll say to myself, “Eh, he does have my cutes after all.”

The videos that I have made and put on You Tube have been viewed nearly 11,000 times. I know, I know, some single videos get viewed MILLIONS of time.

I just never figured I’d get more than 10 or 20 looks on my off the cuff productions.

Speaking of videos and Vlogging. I still laugh every time the Jay-Man opens one of his Vlogs up with the phrase, “Hola, Bitches.” Ha. Funny man.

If we could convert Bill O’Reilly’s ego, Dick Cheney’s anger, and Dubya’s lack of command of the English language into fuel, gasoline would be 19 cents a gallon…for the next 75 years!!

Even though I miss my mom and dad, whenever I think of them, instead of feeling sad, I almost always smile and laugh.

I will be hanging out with Ryno before he goes away later today, and then off to work so I won’t be around much today.

Enjoy your day all. I’ll be back tomorrow with another “just phonin’ it in” post.

Cheers!!

Inky and Lola: Inky Just Gives and Gives

If you have been following my favorite stick friends in the world, Inky and Lola, you know that Inky has had some hard times in the past.

Especially around the Fourth of July...

Some trouble at summertime cookouts...

But nothing can prevent Inky from being the giver that he is...

Here's to President Bush's 62nd Birthday tomorrow. I am going to bake him a cake and put 4,123 candles on it.

No, seriously...Happy Birthday...Dumbass.

I will be giving out the coveted COW Award tomorrow, AND...

Today, I will be Vlogging my way to pick up beer at the Drive-Thru that I work at. You will get to enjoy that trip with me tomorrow.

I'm off today...So, enjoy Bitches; it's a Celebration!!

I hope your 4th of July was safe, fun, and full of fireworks.

Cheers!!

A Revolutionary World of What Ifs...

I have often wondered what would have happened if our leaders of today were alive when this nation of ours was born.

Would things have been different? Let’s take a look, shall we?

Senator Larry Craig, would not be a Senator from Idaho, of course…

Perhaps a ranking member in the Continental Congress, from, let’s say…Virginia.

During a break in the voting on the Declaration of Independence, Delegate Craig would follow fellow Virginian and declaration signer, Francis Lightfoot Lee to the Congressional outhouse.

Upon entering and seeing Lightfoot Lee pissing, Craig would say, “Oooo Francis, may I drop trowel as well and play as though we are lonely swashbucklers upon the sea, with thee?”

That action would lead to Craig (and his signature) being replaced by Carter Braxton.

However, Craig would later serve on the first Supreme Court, setting a precedent that there must be one gay man on the Court. A tradition alive and well today in the form of Justice Antonin Scalia.

Now John McCain…We all know that he was alive back then, as evidenced by this picture of him and Ben Franklin.

The only difference with Johnny Mac is that back then, he served in the Army, not the Navy.

He would be captured on September 10, 1777 during the Battle of Brandywine, and held by the Brits as a POW.

Much more horrendous than the beatings he took from the Vietnamese, his torture would consist of being force fed British cuisine. Oh the Humanity!!

Barack Obama? He’d be a slave of course.

He’s spend his days working the corn and tobacco crop on Thomas Jefferson’s grounds near Monticello.

He’d be kept down by the man ‘neath the hot Virginia sun singing spirituals, and telling his fellow slaves that he would be President after the war.

They would all laugh at him…kinda like we all did a year or so ago.

Then at night, he’d retire to his bunk and kiss his wife, Sally Hemings, and their kids goodnight…

And then he’d turn to Sally and ask, “Why the hell are our kids so damn white looking?”

Lastly, I ponder…What if George Bush had been around then?

Move over John Hancock...Dubya would be President of the Continental Congress when the declaration was signed.

And to this day, instead of Hancock’s voluminous, artistic signature at the bottom of that history altering document, there would be a ginormous “Y”.

Why “Y”? Because the fucktard mispelled “X”.

Later, on June 14, 1777, George would stand upon the deck of the John Paul Jones commanded frigate, Ranger, for a portrait-op...

Declaring, “Thy Mission...tis’ Accomplished.”

He’d be right…Well, several years and many deaths later.

And so, there you have my take on an alternative revolutionary world.

I’m sure that Bill Clinton and Ben Franklin would have tag teamed Marie-Antoinette while on “diplomatic assignment” to France, as well.

Cheers!!

Hey!! Let's Go Camping!!

Okay…

So I am finally getting around to the story that I told you about last Wednesday.

First of all, the Holy Baby Jeebus showed up last Hump Day night, and then when he left, I got a phone call.

It was from an old buddy of mine who asked me to go camping with him.

The last time we hooked up for some frivolity, it went something like THIS. But he wanted to get together again.

Here’s how the conversation went…

Matt-Man: Hello?

Dubya: Hey Matt-Man, you crazy Son of a Bitch, it’s GW!!

Matt-Man: Hey Dubya, what’s up?

Dubya: Well, not my approvalcy ratings, that’s fer damn sure…you Bagwine Bastard, you!!

Matt-Man: Kinda low, aren’t they?

Dubya: Low!!? Hell, my numbers are lower than the belly on a West Texas rattlesnake, mi amigo!!

Matt-Man: It sucks to be you, doesn’t it? So what's up, shit for brains?

Dubya: Ha...If I had shit fer brains, Matt-Man, I'd be mentally constipated...I was wonderin’ iffin ya’d like to go campin’ with me over the Fourth of Joo-lie?

Matt-Man: I dunno, Dubya…where would we camp?

Dubya: Well, Camp David, ya horse’s ass. Geez.

Matt-Man: That’s not really camping, is it? It’s actually more like a resort, isn’t it?

Dubya:
It’s got “camp” in the name doesn’t it? Hell, I’ll pitch a tent out back and we can party!!

Matt-Man: Well, I don’t kno---

Dubya: Y’know…Itsa funny thing that it’s called Camp DAVID. I mean, naming it after a Jewish bible guy and all. I didn’t think that Jews even liked to camp.

Matt-Man: Well, it’s not rea---

Dubya: Hell, if that’s the case, maybe Senator Lieberman would like to hook up with us…

Of course if we camp, I’m puttin’ a pig on the spic, and I don’t think he’d like that. Oh, what the fuck...I’ll pack some matzo and some guilt.

Matt-Man: Dubya, I think mayb---

Dubya: Ha…Screw it, if Lieberman comes, I’ll put Barbra Streisand on the spic; there’s some good Jewish meat fer ya, Joey.

Hey Matt-Man, I gots to go…I’ll call ya back later, and settle the intrica…intrici…um…the details with ya later. Ouch!! Goddammit!! That's gonna leave a mark!!

Jenna pick yourself up off the floor, and go make a grandbaby for Mom and me, and fetch me a Coors on your way. Jeez, kids!!

Later, muchacho!!

He’s calling me back later this week…Pray for me.

Cheers!!

My Fellow Americans...

Matt-Man For President

This past Saturday Marilyn, of More Random Than Average posted ten questions that she would like to ask the Presidential candidates.

She also gave the reasons why she wanted them answered. I took the liberty of copying the questions and giving my answers to them, to her, and all of America.

After all, I want to be elected, lead this nation, and meet some hot foreign babes in the process. So here they are...

1. Have you ever had to clean out the fridge when there was fuzzy stuff growing on the leftovers? What did you do with the container?

Being the resourceful man that I am, I waste nothing. I venture to Vietnam frequently for um…business reasons…I typically return home with a case of the clap.

I have found that the fuzzy stuff, when applied topically, clears it right up. I use the container to keep my discharge cultures in…saves the nurse from having to get one.

2. Please pronounce the word nuclear in a sentence.

When I offered to do her in the ass, the bitch went noo-klee-er on me.

3. What brand of feminine products does your wife use and have you ever purchased them?

I am currently living in sin, however, I will tell you this. I prefer that ladies do not use feminine hygiene products. When going down on a sexy babe I live by one rule:

"If it smells like cologne, leave it alone. If it smells like fish, tasty dish." Much like me, it’s all about keeping’ it real.

And yes, I have purchased them on numerous occasions, but not for their intended purposes, but the reasons are between me, and God Almighty.

4. Let's assume you are wearing athletic shoes and you step in some dog poop, getting it thoroughly stuck in the ridges of the sole. How would you go about cleaning it off?

I wouldn’t clean it off…It would help to mask the disgusting smell of my feet. I always consider others.

5. Which of the following is it safe to give a kid with a fever: Tylenol, Ibuprofen, or Aspirin.

Tylenol is cool. I think Ibuprofen is as well. Aspirin however, has been linked to Reye’s Syndrome named after some Aussie doctor.

I think it leads to an irrational desire to eat vegemite and dance with chicks named Matilda…or something.

6. You pay for a $1.48 soda with a ten dollar bill. What should you get back as change?

First of all, I don’t drink soda. I drink Bagwine and Beer. And under a Matt-Man administration, alcohol production would be nationalized, so it would be free…at least to my friends.

So, that entire ten dollar bill you speak of stays in my pocket, and yours!!

7. The following phrases should not appear in political speeches: "the gold bar standard," and "the litmus test". Please explain why.

Now, I have been to The Gold Bar, and the strippers there are smokin' hot, but their standards have nothing to do with running this country.

As for litmus test…The government has no business delving into the results of your home pregnancy kit.

8. Would you read and seriously try to understand newspaper editorials that disagreed with you?

I doubt that that would happen but if it did?…I would merely have sex with the hot chick who wrote it, and change her mind.

If it was a guy or some butt ugly woman, I would merely offer them a well paying, government job with a big title and absolutely no responsibility.

If they refused I would have them whacked. I am all for free speech, but it does have its consequences.

9. How do you feel about presidential signing statements and would you use them?

You damn well better believe that I will…Giving a big ol' Fuck You to parts of legislation passed by those morons in Congress is a well defined tradition dating back to James Monroe.

Many hard working Americans would love to flip off the Congress. I will be the middle finger for middle America!!

10. Boxers of briefs?

Well, when I actually wear underwear, it is almost always boxers. But I do have a problem with boxers. They feel and look so much like regular shorts, that I often leave the house wearing no pants.

But hey, I pride myself on being an open book.

Cheers!!

Two COWs and One-on-One

Ladies and Gentlemen, today is a special day for Bagwine Ruminations.

We are awarding not one, but two C.O.W.s this week.

Oh, and by the way, Ryno wants to play one on one basketball again with the Old Man this morning.

For the record, since the little 13 year old future NBA’er and I have kept records of our games, this Old Man is up 3 games to 0.

While it’s good for him that he is 30 years younger, it’s better for me that I am 7 inches taller!!

So, since it is finally going to be a nice day in Bagwine, Ohio and I am off to see Ryno this morning, let’s get right to it.

First, a special COW goes to someone who has been a regular Bagwine drinker for quite awhile.

She is always there when I need a song suggestion, a review for my sidebar, and always makes me laugh with her comments.

Her name is Starrlight and she hails from the Great Northwest of the U.S. She is smart, funny, and I believe, of Greek ancestry, or as President Bush would say…

“I think that dogie bitch is Grecian.”

On Wednesday’s post, I launched Matt-Man’s Internets Bag-A-Date ™ dating service. I didn’t come right out and say to send your application…But she did.

I will post her application later due to length constraints, but I wanted to thank her today.

I hope you do the same and go over to the lovely Starrlight’s site by clicking HERE, and congratulate her for the COW, and being a buddy.

Thanks for everything Starr!!

And now for our weekly
Bagwine Ruminations Comment of the Week

This week’s comment comes courtesy of our Tuesday post and the creation of April Foot’s Day.

This funny man, through his comment, shows his innate ability to call me an auto-erotic pervert and a sensitive guy at the same time.

He’s Jay the Cynical Bastard and here is his comment…

“I guess you got tired of writing to your penis so you decided to write to your feet? Seriously, I thought it was touching.”

Here’s to the Jay-Man for ropin’ this week’s COW. If you’d like to give kudos to Jay please click HERE.

I hope you and Starrlight hang your COWs proudly.

I am off to go see the Little Man for a few and throw my hip out.

I hope to see you at my Church Disservice tomorrow and watch me expose Conan O’Brien for stealing one of my comedic gems.

Until then,

Cheers!!

Update: We only go to play one game because Ryno went shopping with his grandma for new Track and Field Shoes. For him, not Grandma.

Final Score: Old Matt-Man 13 Ryno 8

Matt-Man moves to 4-0...And no injuries from old age!!

A New Month...A New COW, and a Dutch Treat

Wow!! It is already March 1st.

Seems like only yesterday it was February. Where does the time go?

March is a busy month.

Spring begins, Drunkenness ensues on St. Paddy’s Day, Schmoop turns 42 26, and...

I get to turn the page on my George W. Bush Countdown To Leaving Office Calendar. Boo Yah!!

Anyhoo, Sindi tagged me with a meme (and most of you know how I feel about those) that asks 39 questions of the, um...memee?

I thought I would answer a few at a time. So to wit, and heretofore, are a couple of my answers…

13. Favorite food?

As you know, I do love the greasy goodness of fried SPAM, but I also have a love of Baloney sandwiches on white bread, smothered in cottage cheese and Cheetos. Yum-Frickin’-Oh!!

39. How many countries have you been to?

I have only been to the vast wasteland that is Canada. It was very unmemorable, and as exciting as watching a curling match.

I would like to go to the Netherlands. I came across a blogger named the Dutch Bitch.

For some reason, she reminds me of the ABBA chick, Frida Lyngstad. Purrrrrrrr.

It would be great to fly over and explore her lowlands.

If I went there and failed to hook up with Dutchie, Holland still has two other things of note…Legal prostitution, and delicious cheese. Proost and Gezondheid!!

31. What are you afraid of?

Sure, I know many of you think that I am fearless, but that is not the case. I fear clowns, midgets, and librarians.

If I ever come across a midget, dressed up like Bozo, discussing the nuances of the Dewey Decimal System, I would probably spontaneously combust.

There it is, a little insight into the Matt-Man. I’ll answer more queries from Sindi next Saturday.

And now, it’s time for the Bagwine Ruminations Comment of the Week…

As expected, our COW comes from my Half Nekkid Thursday post. Our winner this week is Marilyn, who authors More Random Than Average.

Marilyn’s comment is proof positive that not only are Bagwine readers smart, their children are insightful and intuitive as well.

Marilyn’s comment comes indirectly from her adorable young daughter, Jasmine…

“So Jasmine starts to walk in here and I say, "No! there's inappropriate stuff on this blog".

and she says..."Matt-Man's blog?"
How'd she know?”

How precious…Please stop by and congratulate one of the driest wits in the blogosphere on roping this week’s COW. You can visit Marilyn by clicking HERE.

Enjoy your Saturday folks, I am off to see the Matt-Man clone for a few.

Cheers!!

Presidents Day: Let's Put on the Oval Office Feedbag

I hope all of you had an enjoyable weekend. Mine was lovely and it continues today.

I will be spending much of the day with Ryno who is out of school in honor of Presidents’ Day.

Before I go over to his house and get my butt kicked in his video game of choice, I thought I should provide a tribute to the great men who have led our nation.

Order a delicious plate full of our Bay of Pigs in a Blanket.

This is a giant sandwich inspired by a giant in American Politics, FDR.

Order this, and the only thing your hunger will fear will be the deliciousness of our Cripple-Decker Club.

Maybe you’d like to nosh on a few appetizers. We got ’em. Try our Teddy Roosevelt inspired Speak Softly and Carry a Big Fried Cheese on a Stick.

Another popular snack is our William McKinley Buffalo Wings. These are simply to die for. (You may need to Google that reference, sorry.)

We have plenty of dinner options from which to choose as well. One popular dish is our Chester A. Arthur Mutton Chops. These mutton chops are big and delicious just like Chester’s, minus the hair.

Not a glutton for mutton?

A rising star on our dinner menu is the other white meat in the form of our uber-juicy James K. Polk Chops.

We also offer tribute to our current White House Wizard, George W. Bush. For a big Texas-Sized appetite try our Iraq of Lamb. Upon trying this dish, President Bush said, “Dang, these is some good.” A word of warning about this dish…

It is so good that once you start eating you may never go home. It’s also pretty pricey so you may want to bring along a Chinese friend and have him foot the bill.

Well there you have it, a menu fit for a President. I think I’ll celebrate it by having a cocktail before I go over to see Ryno.

I’ll mix some blue vodka, a splash of sweet, charming Vermouth, and a shot of ego…

I love a good Bill Clintini in the morning. Happy Presidents Day!!

Cheers!!
